Minecraft Escape Rooms ARE SO BAD

Ойындар

My first debunk video became my first video ever to hit 1 million view! To celebrate, Here's a brand new video of the same style. I wish I said this more in the video, but Cmrn does not make this kind of content anymore. Please do not send any hate to Cmrn! He's a lovely person. This video is only a critique of the escape rooms themselves.

    What gets me is that every single one calls them prisons. A prison that has a method to escape deliberately built into it, no matter how difficult or obscure, is not a prison! If you're going to call it a prison, at least disguise the puzzles as "security flaws" or something.

    The thing with GOOD escape rooms is that the rooms aren't one and done. You get an assortment of items in one room and you don't use all of them. You can keep some items up until the end of the puzzle, like how in wilfes first escape, he kept on getting rabbit hide to craft boots to walk on cocaine snow. It's a shame the only thing I HAVEN'T seen is the usage of items in later rooms to return to previous rooms and get the blocks there and get back to the later room with said blocks.

  • @m.2039

    @m.2039

    And another thing; A flaw here is that very often the players will have excess items. While this IS excusable for items such as signs and item frames (Although you could use it as furnace fuel) It ISN'T excusable for...you know... ACTUAL PLACABLE BLOCKS?

    While I understand all the flaws in Cmrn's prisons, I feel it's kind of unreasonable to judge someone's first couple of videos so harshly. Any KZreadr's first couple of videos are usually awful including even people like MrBeast and PewDiePie. Therefore I think it would be best to cut him some slack, especially seeing as Cmrn is trying his best to pivot away from prisons and into a much more respectable form of content.

  • @rudrodeepchatterjee

    I mean, the way he narrates in his video does signify that he is not trying to build up hype about anything, like Omz did with his excitement on parts like "BuT thEN I weNt To F5 and FounD a HoPPEr", "I eScapED The HArdeST priSoN". He is just casually speaking, and that is good that he is not uselessly hyping, but the "Hardest escape room" part is still trash. Stuff like Pandora's vault is also technically an escape rooms, and even if we ignore prisons like those, there are way harder escape rooms than these 3.

    @@touyatodoroki7935 Where's the manipulation? I think you are just trying to find a way to demonize Cmrn because you hate prison videos in general, even though everyone including Kenadian said he did nothing wrong. The title and specifically "hardest" was put there because he was experimenting with titles to see what worked at the beginning of his KZread journey, hence why he stopped doing that with ALL his newer videos. The hunger bar regeneration was most likely done because he found the prisons genuinely too hard and the content was made for the sole purpose of entertaining kids so I really don't see why people are blowing it out if proportion. It was wrong, yes, but he has never done it since in any of his new civilization vids, so people really need to move on instead of dwelling on the past.

    @@Lich1 i don't hate them lol i don't even hate the kid. im saying that if they want to be known as someone that can escape the hardest minecraft prisons, they need to actually do that instead of quickly making low-quality escape rooms - which CAN and SHOULD be done well - and then calling it "the hardest minecraft prison ever" for clickbait. that's intentionally misleading. how hard is it really for these people to be honest and say "my friend made me an escape room, let's see if i can figure out their puzzles"? they never do, they always talk themselves way up like they're just the same as all the YTers that put significant time and effort into their videos and deserve the same rewards. it's like if someone wanted to be featured in an art gallery, but didn't want to put the time and effort into painting a masterwork, so they printed out MS Paint stick figures, taped them to the wall of their room, and told visitors that they were at the Louvre. being critical of that and calling it manipulative doesn't mean they as people are trash and MS Paint stick figures taped to the wall are trash, it means that they need to honestly represent themselves instead of lying about who they are and what they do. or just man up and actually put their money where their mouth is, either is fine idc seriously, don't justify this behavior. really honestly truly how hard is it for that person to say, "I drew something in MS Paint! come see!" ur acting like it's just what ur supposed to do and im being totally unreasonable lol. why do they have to lie to people and say they're the Louvre? they don't have to do that at all. they lie for the benefit of misleading others. that's the DEFINITION of manipulation, and they shouldn't be doing that. clickbaiting your way to success is an intentionally dishonest thing to do. that's literally all im saying.

    @@touyatodoroki7935 Fair enough but my main point is that if he's moving on from that, then why should we all stay in the past instead of moving on to better things. Also, I really do still think you are blowing it out of proportion because these were his FIRST EVER videos, and were meant to entertain kids. Cmrn never intended to escape Pandora's Vault or Daedalus Labyrinth, he just planned on making videos he found fun to produce, and that could also do well in the KZread algorithm.

    The simplest prison idea is to make a bed underneath an end portal. In the end you can make amenities and whatever you want, they can explore infinitely, anyone can visit, and even if others beat the dragon, everyone who goes into that portal will be sent to their respective spawns. This could still be involuntary, I think in some versions End portals are invisible from the bottom side, so you could move their base as a ‘funny prank’ to a stronghold, then naturally they’ll just set their spawn, clueless that they’re about to meet their doom. Or you could make it more inconspicuous with boat glitch. You could even ‘gift’ them a base right under the stronghold. Whether trickery counts as voluntary or not, idk, but as long as you choose an arbitrary stronghold far away from spawn (that nobody would find) you should be fine.

    What's sad is that the best escape rooms were the "prisons" back in the Minecraft Classic days (yes, classic - the free online alpha version that was shut down maybe 4 years ago). Bear with me, but about 11 years ago there was this server called Zonked Champion Main that hands down had the BEST escapeable prison of all time. Complete with parkour, bedrock and lava, and bots that can 1 hit kill you if they touch you. Spent so many hours in there with friends. The server owner was extremely confused that we willingly went into the prison because it was meant as a punishment for bad apples, but said bad apple could earn freedom if they made it to the exit (which was really hard). And bear in mind, I hate parkour. It was that fun. No real intelligence or tricks needed to complete it. Just perseverance lol. Server owner was nice enough to add a few more bots to ramp up the challenge a little. Fun times. I wish I remembered the guy's name, because if I could locate him again someday and ask him if he still has screenshots of the map or actual map files if he ever remade it in Java MC. Another oldie but goodie was the Infection game mode in MC Classic. It was A1. These escape rooms don't look nearly as fun. Not even close.
