Holy this actually made life so much easier pre-elytra. I have a piglin farm and I normally had to climb 90 blocks just to afk. But now that I have this, I don't have to worry about climbing. 👍

tysm man I got payed 20 diamonds in a server for this in their house.

You could also add 2 repeaters on the bottom and top floor, going in a "half circle" pattern, with 0 ticks, making it look just a bit nicer, as the button is in the elevator kind of. Great design though man, keep it up!

So I built it all as directed and going up the first time went fine and so did going down. I then tried sending the elevator back up, and it got stuck 1 block early at the top. Any clue how to fix?

i would need more information, i can't think of what you're seeing, but it sounds like you're really close! look for what block it stuck to at the top.

I found it extremely easy to follow along with your tutorial, thank you very much for making it. It is so much more... Dignified? I am going to go with dignified. It is so much more dignified to use an elevator than it is to swim up - using the herculean strength that I only seem to possess when swimming and never when swinging my sword at the undead - when moving between the various levels of the gigantic cavern/pit/caldera/crater that I am currently calling home. More importantly, this is in a Hardcore world where I am unable to stop all of the zombies from spawning. Or, more specifically, the Drowned. I am not sure where they spawn, although I suspect it is *inside* the waterfalls because the distance between the floor and ceiling leaves an unlit portion in the center, and I don't want to have a surprise trident end my entire world.

Thank you! I just wish my other videos could get as much traffic as my basic elevators, I work harder on cooler things but search results rig in this one's favor. Anyway, Hopefully the new 1.18 darkness rules are better. Light 0 now instead of 7 or less, which means look for hidden caves underwater!

It wont work outside of java. quasi-connectivity is crucial in elevators.

Tsm I was using 1 normal and 1 sticky and something so simple allowed me to make my own model it's a 3 by 2

Neat! this was my first video, i did a better one in my 3x3 and 5x5 video, but glad the general idea helped. you want to have 12 blocks total for it to stop by one pistoned block, which is perfect for a 2x3 yeah

Using obsidian on the sides, or giving it space so the slime blocks don't catch is what I recommend

I'll look into it. Are you a YTer yourself? The reality is the algorithm and the standalone matters much more than the side by side. So I have to juggle a bunch of other priorities, you're lucky it's not entitled "I did a thing" hahaha

hey i tried to build this and it's super easy to follow and is very simple but i'm coming across this problem that no matter what block i put around the elevator it stops. (noticed that if any block touches the slime it does that) i switched that blocks around a few times- quartz, dirt and stone but none work :/ what can i do?

good question! so you can only touch the slime with non-pullables like obsidian. but glazed terracotta and tileblocks like furnaces work!

good q! sounds simple, could probably put an observer somewhere on the bottom to detect something under the slime. add a pulse extender so it's like a button and wrap it around to the bottom input.

assuming java, you might have your observers/pistons flipped. they need to be aimed at the bottom of the pistons. if you place an observer on a slime block on a piston top, you'll get what you describe.

@@DoctorPlasmaMC I had to delete the game world after i get stuck in the roof with the elevator. But later on after redo like 20 times or so, the "Stopping" piston don't actually work, only if put 2 construction blocks above the platform it stops. I actually tried wattles flying machine with no avail, the contraption fly away to the infinity, but again for the same reason, i can't make it stop right in the spot i wanted. Now i understand why you put the observers in the way you did, wich it stop the first time then after attempting to cover the whole device stops working. It seems construction blocks get stick on the slime and the contraption won't move, if clear the way it moves but looks ugly. I'll keep trying do. It has to be another way. Perhaps i mess up something in the process. In the bright side of things, now i know how to build at least two type of flying machines.

On 1.19.2 the elevator randomly stops at about 15 blocks is there any fix to this. if so it would be very helpful, thanks!

that's odd, it shouldn't do that, it's not logically possible outside game code problems. i would assume you are running into serious server lag or it's hitting a block of some sort on the side.

i want to tank you but it broke one piston stoped working retryed it some more and all broke by not working piston😢

Doesn't seem to work in 1.19. As long as there are any 4 blocks as floor decoration, the downward motion will not occur. The pistons will activate, but they somehow won't drag the slime blocks with them and thus the system just halts. I have built this thing twice now and idk what went wrong while building it :/ EDIT: I got it to work now. The only thing I changed was the placement of the redstone torch inside of the "down"-function circuit, I didn't know that there's a difference between setting the toch atop a block or letting it hang off the wall-block next to it.

The elevator itself works great, however I tried decoration around the elevator like you did at the start of the video and the slime blocks are sticking to the side. This makes the elevator bring down blocks with it or it gets the elevator stuck. How do I fix this

You can only use blocks slime cannot move. This includes glazed terracotta, not just obsidian and furnaces. If you used something else then yes, it'd stick and cause a mess.

Could be a Java vs Bedrock thing. I tried in BR and it did the same thing. My solution, while not really too practical, is to replace the sticky piston pushing the direction you want it to go with a normal piston.

pretty straightforward, just run vertical lines so both buttons do both. check out my 3x3 and 5x5 review vid for a pair of examples.

I figured out the problem You can't use honey blocks instead of slime blocks for this for some reason, they just don't work which sucks because honey is far more ergonomic to get

It won't in bedrock, much redstone only works in Java.
