Lyrically, she writes some really different stuff and I highly doubt anybody else could pull off these songs like she does. This is just too awesome.

Spectacular video! Bravo! I have Mindy's CDs and have this particular song playing over and over in my car. Even though I'm 60 yrs. old, I still remember that little girl who lives inside me. I forget 'her' sometimes I'll admit, but this song has helped me to reconnect with 'her'. This song makes me cry, but not sad tears, tears of joy that helps me to remember what an awesome childhood I had. Don't ever lose your inner child.

Swanee River was my childhood lullaby which my mum used to hum to me. Plus my fav book was a compilation of stories by the Brothers Grimm. She could've been singing of my childhood. I was also ostracized and grew up on the outside looking in. Thank God I am now a very found and no more a long lost child. :) Lovely song.

I think the message behind this song is, there is a time in everybody's life where we feel alone. We feel lost, like nobody's there to save us. You feel vulnerable and small, like a small child. There are tests, and when you pass them, you feel new, like "beautifully wild". People notice you, but there's too nervous to come up and help you, which refers to the singer, Mindy. In the end, it could end good or bad, sometimes really bad like suicide. She's saying don't end up in the bad way, because now matter how long you have to wait, there will always be someone there to save you.

I think it's also a parallel to the person you used to be. Trying to redeem and find the parts of you that felt free and wild and not caring of other's opinions. I'm trying to find interest in my passions again, and I feel like a part of my desire to do the things I loved is hiding from me, in a place I don't know to look or how to find. But admitting to myself that I can't find her helps me to reach out to her, because honesty will only push you forward.
