Milwaukee 5 in. Hardline Fixed Blade Knife 48-22-1928

Milwaukee 5 in. Hardline Fixed Blade Knife 48-22-1928
I am not a knife expert. Just a guy giving some impressions of a knife I was able to evaluate.
Thank you to Milwaukee Tool and The Home Depot for providing me with this sample.
www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee...
This is a very nice full tang fixed blade knife. It comes with a dangler style sheath that has loops for your belt and loops for Molle. I found the sheath and knife very comfortable to wear. The knife snaps securely into the sheath and takes a couple of fingers pushing against the sheath to free the knife for use.
My knife arrive fairly sharp with a few noticeable burrs. Five minutes on the wet stone had it tuned up fine.
This is a carbon steel knife not a stainless steel knife, so it will require more care to prevent rusting.
The handle feels really nice and the knife feels natural to use.

I like it. It is a little big for my personal preference to carry. I like the 4" model a little better I think.

People denounce aus 8 but here is the thing, no matter the steel it always will perform better in a fixed blade as it will have more material, girth, and the heat treatment will usually result in a knife that you can beat and can touch up and fix easily versus a terminator steel knife that takes hours for each side lol

Thanks for making video on this knife. I thought it was so overpriced for what it is and funny that they are acting like aus-8 is a great steel. This knife is good if its $50 at the highest price.

Actually, yes; AUS-8 is a stainless steel and in my experience, one of the better ones when it comes to corrosion resistance. Looks like Milwaukee copied the Gerber StrongArm model. Rear of the handle is different. Wish they had copied the Gerber's sheath better than they did. The Gerber is $75.oo while this knife is $55.oo over at Home Depot currently. The Milwaukee looks like a good fixed-blade beater knife around one's backyard or property to get stuff done.

VERY well described. It’s SOLID. The sheath is great. The thing cut me just with it’s weight! Paid 99$ here in Montreal though! Legit knife.

Lol it’s so much like the strongarm. It has a better grind though that gives it a better cut. The gerber case is a little better though, but good on Milwaukee for doing a decent job replicating it. I’ve been using the strongarm as my work knife and I think I’m replacing it with this just because a) the cut is nicer and b) it doesn’t have the pointy glass breaker, which is better for my needs as a framer.

$80, it's not worth it. The 4" $20 is worth it though. Not as nice of a sheeth but for something to throw in a budget bug out/emergency bag id rather go with the 4 inch.

I appreciate the review. When I checked Depot these were about $80. For the money, I'd still stick with a comparable Mora knife. Could be wrong about the steel quality - curious to hear if anyone more educated than me has done a steel comparison.

@@FernbarkFrist No, it isn't! The only thing that's similar is the sheaths. Milwaukee copied the Gerber Strongarm's sheath. That's where the similarities end. The Strongarm is nothing like this Milwaukee Hardline. Different materials, construction, different handle, different grind, etc, etc.. C'mon dude, plenty of images on the internet. No need to rely on inaccurate rumors.
