Milo Yiannopoulos vs Destiny - Official Debate Footage

This is the footage recorded from the actual event, so the audio and camera angles are better. In order to get it out as soon as possible, we used footage recorded by a fan since the ETA for this footage was expected to take a week. However, we wanted to upload the official footage in case anyone was interested in seeing it in better quality.

@True Adam nationalism creates people who listen to their country blindly. It leads to xenophobia, racism, and other forms of hate. I don't know why we even need to be having this conversation at this point. Nationalism has inspired some of the worst movements in human history.

  • @ataraxia7439

@True Adam if that’s how you’re using the word then fine. There’s nothing intrinsically wrong with that and it can even be a positive thing. However nationalism usually refers to ideologies, attitudes, & values where one places value in their own country elevated above others and even to the detriment of others. That’s bad. If someone had to choose between their country going to ruin but the rest of the world thriving, of the rest of the world going to ruin but their country thriving, the former is the moral choice but not supported by most nationalist ideologies.

For the reason that he changed his view. The same way I don’t much care for an ISIS sympathizer’s opinion, but if he changes his view, well that’s what we want him I do, so I’m willing to hear his opinion. In fact, I’m ready to hear and debate a current isis sympathizer. To try and convert him away from that belief. And if he’s willing to denounce that belief I’m not going to permanently ostracize him for something he didn’t do, but only believed, and now no longer believes.

At 1:11:00 Milo is doing what we all sometimes do, he's stating his particular philosophical opinion on something as universal fact. It just so happens to be in an area that strikes a negative chord with me. I am not scared of my dad. My dad is a wonderful empathetic respectful person. He has raised me to be one as well. I have understood my power and how to manage it in ways besides fearing him, and I seak relationships with people who have these same qualities. What he is saying IS NOT universally true, and if anyone out there feels insecure because of what he is saying just realize that it doesn't have to define you in any way. I'm all for freedom of speech but saying such opinionated things so brazenly can really shut people out of the discourse man. We should speak in ways that encourage others to disagree with us, or else how can we know we aren't using the bludgeon of rhetorical strength to awe them into submission.

Some things I notice about him though, Milo and Sargon are both willing to say he changed their minds on something, but Destiny cannot, and will never say such a thing. He can't because his ideology won't allow him to. There's other things I don't like about his debate tactics which I see as really common on the left. He can't simply address an argument, he has to make it complex. Everything on the left is "complicated", everything is nuanced, so when you try to get an answer out of him, he just dodges it with "complexity" and only half addresses it. Sometimes it works and he can change the person's mind while not offending his ideology, and other times it just doesn't work and you can see he's clearly dodging the question because he can't condemn or be critical of certain aspects of it. At the same time, issues on the right are almost always much simpler and can be directly addressed or criticized. That's my impression of him from Sargon's recent discussion and this one. It's actually a really common debate tactic I see from lefties.

See in the United Kingdom in the 1860's was first introduced to the "french fry" or "chip" in regards to your question. America succeeded in 1776 from the her majesty's Kingdom and for two and a half hundred years their vernacular has taken on an identity of its own where "crisps" are "chips" and "chips" are "fries" so in summation id say its quite clear that i enjoy chips and all they have to offer.

1:29:00 I can distinctly recall one time in my life when I was truly offended to my core. I was ordering food from a pizza place and I ordered a stromboli that included 3 toppings from the menu. One of my toppings was spinach. The menu even specifically said "Fresh spinach." Anyways, this stromboli was disgusting and the spinach was clearly not fresh. While this stromboli had ultimately been both a waste of my time and money, this was not the source of the offense. These people thought that I must have been stupid not to notice the difference between canned and fresh. What's worse is when they arrived to deliver it, the driver demanded an extra fee for the delivery. I was stunned and tried to argue, but he cut me off and said "I'm gonna need about tree fiddy." It was about that time that I noticed this pizza delivery man was about 500 feet tall and from the paleolithic era.

As a gay man you'd think he'd ask himself how that could possibly apply to his relationship or the relationship between lesbians. But more troubling to me is what the hell does that mean? That needed to be expanded upon and while destiny had interesting things to say to that he didn't press him on what that meant or go into further discussion on that point. "Can we compare emotional pain with physical pain?" The worst literal pains I've ever felt have been from biochemical reactions that had nothing to do with direct physical contact with anything. Oh, wait, that's wrong of me to say because that's assuming what you've been through, what you go through, who you are, etc, etc. What do you even mean by "beaten up to knock out"? Either you took a blow that triggered an actual KO, or you passed out from pain. In either case, your body saved you from higher levels of suffering. I envy people who pass out from pain. This was the point I was trying to make. If you've ever been tortured by someone who knew what they were doing, then you'd know they make an effort to keep you awake and aware. You'd understand how going unconscious is sometimes just your body's way of sparing you from higher levels of pain. You wouldn't assume I haven't endured extreme physical trauma, and you'd understand that the only thing worse than that trauma is the psychological trauma it causes as you realize you have no choice but to endure and, even after you make it through, you might be permanently damaged.

I probably have some pretty harsh surgeries ahead of me, though, so if I'm still around and competent when it happens, I'll get back to you with an update. But that is not really hate speech, these words don't inherently discriminate against anyone and are completely different to hate speech like: "I hate jews", "jews are ...." or the n-word which are usually seen as hate speech.
