For anyone doing these, I recommend using a thumb tack to pluck out the little tabs in the pieces. It's 100x easier. Their cardboard piece provided will eventually bend and break but the metal from a thumb tack wont.

What is the little plastic strip that comes within? I got like 5 of the models and Ive never figured out what are those for or how to use them!

I really enjoyed the build some assembly skills required but not to hard I'd say 1 to 2 out 5. Big hands probably makes a bit harder I give it a solid 8 out of 10.

@@playit6710 some of the little tabs get crushed and you can't get them through the holes. That's where I ended up using the glue

I hope someone can answer this. Lots of people are saying the tabs get crushed/bent because they're paper, making it difficult or impossible to place those tabs in their corresponding slots. If you placed super glue on the tabs before joining the pieces, would it harden the tabs and make assembly easier? Or would it be possible to simply use an X-ACTO knife to remove the tabs entirely and join the pieces using glue? And about glue, for paper, would a PH Neutral PVA glue be better? Or should you use super glue?

Haven’t figured out what the blue / white tabs are for. There is a picture but no other mention of them. They brag about no words but words matter. I will try the thumb tac tip !

After working on this for days, I’ve concluded this is the worst cardboard type model I’ve ever tried to build. Those punch out assist pieces are a joke. The fit of the entire model is not great. I will never do another puzz 3d/4d model again. I would throw this one away but it was given as a gift so I’m going to keep plugging away until I complete it

They must have messed up the measurements on mine because when I start assembling the pieces you assemble at 0:55 seconds into the I can't connect it so easily like you did....any suggestions on how to get them done?

They took optimized pieces perfectly punched out for the video. None of the more complicated parts have gone together “nicely”

Just came here to check if anyone else had issues with those....and while watching this, I realized that I've been trying to attach surrounding and the center wrong way; the surrounding print goes inside and gray/beige outside. Life is learning, just broke my 3rd surrounding before realizing this... :D instructions shows only some pink/yellow coloring for that step and simply ignored any other images etc. Btw I have the 216pcs model, so might be slightly different

This model needs a refit. The slots are too small and the tabs too large. The tabs tend to bend and fold over making it impossible to then get them into the slots. I have also encountered instances where the tabs from one part do not line up with the slots from another part. My girlfriend knows I'm a Star Wars geek so she bought this for my birthday making it impossible to toss in the trash or I'd hurt her feelings. I ended up just cutting all the tabs from tab parts and using Elmer's glue to fasten them to slot parts, clamping them up with rubber bands and letting them dry overnight. It ended up looking fine and is pretty stout due to all the glue. For the price it's a good looking display model but do not kid yourself into thinking it will be easy to assemble.

Problem is, the cardboard is of the lowest quality and the tab always bends and crunches.

1. Use super glue 2. Use own support inside for stability and hardnese 3. Its not really fun for build but is nice add on for shelf. And cheap. 4. Cubic Fun brand is much better than 4d puzz in model quality but they don't have Star Wars brand.

Started out good but once I hit a more complicated piece the quality problems hit. Only being held together by glue as a I proceed on

Just started kit and found it to be a complete piece of garbage. I've assembled over 50 wooden 3d kits and the parts fit! Could not parts A09 and A04 together in step one. I'm putting this back in the box and putting it in a landfill where it belongs. This product was a waste of 20$. This puzzle wasn't challenging it was disappointing

you know, you could have removed the tabs that weren't fitting with an X-ACTO knife and just glued A09 straight to A04, no one would know. It would still be a flush finish.

How vulnerable is this to water?

It's not vulnerable at all. It's 100% paper. Getting it wet should not be a problem whatsoever.
