If you liked this song then: - start with next album Somewhere in Time (the best Maiden album) - any song ! For example, Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner ☺ - logic says you can't listen to concert version of songs you don't know 🤔 first listen to the studio version at least once. I wish you all the best 👍

Nice to see a 'millenial' liking Iron Maiden! The world is not lost, haha! Yeah, this is a great song. Almost all songs are built up around Steve Harris' bassline. Did you know they got their own Boeing 747 called 'Edforce 1', referring to Eddie, their mascot. Bruce Dickinson is not only singer of the band, he's also their pilot! Have fun exploring this great band! I'm a fan since 1987 when I discovered them at the age of 12... As for a recommendation I'd say 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner', from the same album 'Powerslave'. A beautiful long song. Greetz from the Netherlands 🤘

Bruce is also a very talented at fencing and besides writing novels has an aircraft maintenance company. Comes across as still humble and a great sense of humor. In short, a bona fide legend.

You HAVE to listen to Hallowed Be Thy Name live in 1982 (It's the video with around 10M views) Arguably their best song, and the '82 live version is downright superb

Man you are in for a real treat with Iron Maiden! It's one of my absolute favourite bands of all time.
22 Acacia Avenue
The Trooper is my favorite. Only got to see them once 86 or 87 I think. The most important thing to remember is they follow old poetry or events in history in most of their songs...so even as their music rocks, there's usually a ton to learn from the lyrics.
You are one of the only people on fb that reminds me of the first time I heard maiden! 💪

After almost four decades of worshiping IM including 6 concerts, I can guarantee you their songs only get better with age like a fine wine. As for recommendations, some great ones already mentioned and the list is VERY LONG. However, here’s just a few to get into... Revelations, The Trooper, The Prisoner, Phantom of the Opera, Children of the Damned, Alexander the Great, Sea of Madness, The Evil That Men Do, Infinite Dreams, Moonchild, Fear of the Dark, Afraid to Shoot Strangers, Starblind, Montsegur, Dance of Death, The Red and the Black, The Clansman (with Blaze Bailey on vocals) and more recently, The Parchment, Hell on Earth.

Caught Somewhere in time
i saw them on this tour in 1985 , i was 14 yrs old
I love Maiden saw them three times live: 80s, 90s, and in '22. They started to get more metal Prog in the later albums.
Any song on Piece of Mind. Hallow be thy Name the official video 1982 live is my favorite, there is like 10 version over the last 40 years. Dance of Death , Rime of the Ancient Marianor . All their live version are twice as good. Their 2 to 3 of the guitarist do solos and the all play in harmony, Sometimes 2 or all 3 except the bass will do the solos at the sametime.
Infinite dreams, Revelations, Blood brothers, Children of the Damned, Aces high, the clairvoyant…….shit dude there are so many prime tracks🤘🤘🤘🤘
Aaah. I wish I was hearing that for the first time too. Excellent "Maiden face" by the way. Its a thing. Yes it is.
check out their concert live after death 1985 its one of the best shows ever
EVERY SONG ON THIS ALBUM! Yeah, it's that good, from Aces High to Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
That whole album is excellent so is Piece of Mind but as good as their albums are Iron Maiden is best live. Incredible high energy shows

For me, Number Of the Beast is one of the few overrated Maiden songs. Hmm.. to be honest, I can't think of another one that is "overrated", it's usually the other way around. ^^ I'll tell you what, don't believe anyone who tells you about a best song, Maiden just has too many of them. Listen to two more songs and that's it with you: addicted. I'm been addicted for almost 40 years now and love it. You already have some suggestions under the video, so I won't make any now. What are you?
If you don't like Numbet of rhe Beast, then stick to the Powerslave album for now. It's the best they made with the "classic" lineup. check out the openjng 2 tracks next Aces High & 2 Minutes to Midnight. Subsequent albums were all downhill after Powerslave. They lost none of their musicianship, but ran out of ideas & started doing the stuff all metal bands do when they run out of ideas "experimenting" with keyboards etc. Number of the Beast is actually a brilliant album their first withbsinger Bruce Dickinson & next best after Powerslave with him in the band. Don't dismiss it out of hand Its the album which broke them and made them superstars for good reason. From there, instead of going forwards into the newer more bland disappointing work, keep going backwards. The first 2 albums are both brilliant Killers (the "difficult second album") is the best thing they ever did in my view. They had a different singer back then, Paul DiAnno and a much more raw, energetic edgy sound. Leave the newer albums for the younguns who don't know any better. Maiden were at their best when they were fresh, new & pissed off and burst onto the scene full of energy & ambition. 👌👍😎
