Milkshake IPA's are blowing up in the craft beer scene, boasting big tropical flavors. We decided to test Julius Yeast from Imperial against Citrus Yeast by splitting a 10 gallon extract Milkshake IPA into two 5 gallon fermenters and pitching the yeasts side by side. so you use ascorbic acid to reduce oxygen, correct? I was under the impression you would add it during fermentation (no idea where i got that in my head from) . Anyways, how much do you add per gallon?
Worth noting if you pour boiling water into most glass carboys (those that are not borosilicate), you run the risk it blowing up and making an epic and expensive mess.
How much ascorbic acid do you use say for a 5 gallon batch
