I knew there was a reason I saved a bunch of smoker pin rings after fun practice. A lot to try and remember on this one but it looks highly effective. The tape around the spoon is definitely a requirement just in case you forget about the pin. And you need a wedge type instrument to open the ring up a bit. It is way stronger than your average split ring key ring. They also make nice zipper pulls. Carry on.

This trigger was used in Nam. There's also an old KZread video by some Russian guy making this. He called it the "Snake trigger system". Instead of a grenade pin ring, a simple key ring will work. Or, If you feel all bush crafty, it can be made from vines wrapped tightly in a circle.

Great video! The instructions were clear, but my mind didn't grasp 100% of it, only about 75% of it, so I'll watch it again and hopefully can figure out what I missed! It's only 6½ minutes so it's short... good and bad. My trap learning speed is slower than most, I have to understand the how, what, when, where, and why before my brain completely understand it!

Sir, T Y again! One of the most entertaining videos I have seen since the Hindenburg dirigible caught fire. The music was appropriate to this version of the Malay Man Trap, similar to the Dragnet drama score. I do expect negative comments to come from some pro-predator orgs, but that should be counterbalanced by support from the Bambi Hunter's Protection Society. I assume that this trap was set on an advanced military navigation exercise trail? Hooyah!

I need to make sure of certain things: The paracord loop that passes through the pin has the function of tilting the trigger. But where does the other end go, to the ground to hoist the trap? Does it have another function? If not, it would be better to hide it. I didn't understand how this trap is triggered. The trigger wire goes vertically from the top of the trigger to the stake planted squarely in the ground and there it passes through a loop and therefore makes a right angle so that you pull on it when the deer passes under it? Isn't there an automatic trigger? Our scent could keep deer away if we stay near the trap. Catching big game seems really interesting to me, I sincerely want to master this trap. Merci beaucoup pour votre réponse Andrew. Sorry for all the confusion. Bonne journée
