Extreme was the very first big name band I saw live. It was in Brussels FN in 1991 I think. The Stop the World tour. The band was awesome, the show was amazing. They had a 4-piece brass section. Gary and Nuno have an on-stage chemistry that is unique. I've seen many acts since. Some very, very big names. But Extreme was the best performance, without a doubt. The Freddie Mercury tribute was spectacular and beautiful. I still get tears watching it today. Love those guys

Awesome stories about Led Zep and the gig at wembley for Freddie... Damn... I was too young to be there but I bought the DVD only for those 14 mintues of pure hapiness... So touching and absolutly stunning show... When Queen's genius merges with Exteme's talent ... It's even more beautiful and it's just ... Heaven ...

I don't know when this interview was made, but it seems to me recent. I have to say that Gary and Nuno still retain a perfect physical form, voice and sex appeal that makes them fall in love with them.

Fernan Villegas I agree, but may be because they were the only band to play all queen songs. But yeah they did it like they wrote them songs.

I Love Extreme. Nuno and Gary are amazingly talented. Ecpecially Three Sides To AStory had an impact on me. Cupis Dead is "THE" coolest guitar/funk track ever in My book. "Someone Said give Peace a chance" Amen to that.

I'm just kind of shocked and disappointed at how guitar-centric Nuno Bettencourt comes off, with his comment regarding his description of how John Paul Jones doesn't qualify to get the trumpets and grand entry into his dressing room, only to be second fiddle to Jimmy Page. Whereas Page in Nuno's book gets the premier red carpet with trumpets blaring upon entry. Pfft!! Apparently, Nuno knows nothing of depth when it comes to the song writing role John Paul Jones had with a humber of their hits along with the overall symbolic forming of Led Zepplin's dark-folkloric sound. In fact, John Paul Jones was and is the heart and soul of Led Zepplin in many ways!! His keyboard flourishes and excellent bass playing really was endemic in shaping their signature sound. "The winds of Thor are blowing cold, cold ,cold..." *cue in keyboard. Terribly under-rated and woefully snubbed when Plant and Page reunited in the 90's. Stairway to Heaven would not be the iconic song it has become without JPJ's haunting keyboards (flute-like embellishes all over it) and his stellar bottom end bass playing, end of. Never liked Extreme! Here for the broad's legs. But I do like Richie Kotzen. Somehow Nuno got mixed in with Ritchie's performances.

Yea, but I still think it's disrespectful to NOT give equal accolades to JPJ irregardless of what instrument he plays, intentionally demoting him 'beneath' Jimmy Page is sacrilege. Now if we were to look at JPJ in the vein of rock bassists, he is equivalent to Page in his category of 'greatness', just a different instrument. Also, Page and JPJ collaborated a lot on the compositions of the LZ catalog. Don't tell me "All of my Love" is not one of the most etheric keyboard riffs ever recorded, written when Plant came into the studio depressed after his son was killed in an accident.

It's getting more and more annoying the fact that Nuno has taken the role of a spokesperson of the band and Gary is completely overshadowed by him. Once upon a time I was a crazy fan of Nuno and still admire him for his talent, but the more he talks, the more he is losing me.
