    Please add an option to select the ethernet interface to use on the Linux computer, so it does not always use "the first" interface. Also please integrate the setting of the local interface parameters into the program as another commandline option, ifconfig is deprecated.

    thanks, we’ve been waiting for this quite a long time. windows is just a PITA to use. especially if IPv6 is involved.

    Funny how MikroTik devices run on Linux but the support for Linux on the admin side has always been inferior to windows Also, it's 2022, the ifconfig command should have been dead a log time ago. Please use the ip command in future tutorials

    i am sorry. ifconfig is deprecated since 2009 in linux. please use ip instead of ifconfig. ip addr add x.x.x.x/xx dev ; ip link set dev up

    Wine works fine. Make sure you have latest wine64bit and netinstall64bit (separate download!) Wine from here: github.com/Gcenx/macOS_Wine_builds/releases/download/7.18/wine-devel-7.18-osx64.tar.xz

    ROS update from file doesn't work (6.47.10 to 6.49.6 or to 7.5): after reboot nothing changes. How could I update it without ethernet???

    basically u saying, with "try-ethernet-once-then-nand" the device will pops up on netinstall automatically, without pressing any button

  • @Rob2

    @Rob2

    Yes. Unfortunately you cannot set that permanently, it will revert to "nand if fail then ethernet". The "once" means "do this procedure once on next boot". It would be useful to have a mode that sticks, and that tries the etherboot at every reboot but times out after a couple of seconds when it does not detect a running netinstall program, then proceeds to boot from nand. (that can be used to netinstall roof-mounted equipment where it is not possible to press the button, when that has become inaccessible after a failed update or similar) If that was available I would put all roof-mounted devices in that mode.

    I advice you to speak more naturally (not only you, but your presentation team), maybe more smiling. You could do that, I think :-) In our language it sounds like "трошки емоційніше, живіше" . You make great videos and give us useful information. And I hope it will be better with deeper verbal communications! :-) Thanks for the video!

    You have to keep in mind that these are MikroTik employees, not Academy of Motion Picture prize winners. We could hire real actors, but what would, say, Leo di Caprio know about RouterOS?
