Today we did a Radio Free Geneva episode in response to Pastor Mike Winger’s discussion of limited atonement (drawing from a phone conversation with Dr. David Allen) which was aired just last evening. two gospels, Paul preached to the Gentiles the Grace gospel, Other Apostles preached repentance and remissions of sin to the Jews, Back then the only people that knew God was the jews, they knew they had to repent, now the gentiles that did not know God,heard the word and believed and Gods grace gave them the Spirit then the Spirit convict the gentiles and they repent. think back then somebody preach the gospel to a gentile and told them to repent he would say WHY? he dont know , thats why Paul preaches the cross and resurrection and ask do you believe they say yes and the Spirit comes on them , its in Acts and Peter and Paul had problems because of it , Peter finally accepted in 2 Peter 3:15-16 Thats why people today argue about it, Pauls gospel is for gentiles saved by grace not of works, Jews are different not sure about them on works.this is what divides us .Paul talks about it called it a mystery because Jesus gave him revelation, in Acts is where Jesus gave it to the gentiles. Peter did the first gentile and he was amazed they got the Holy Spirit ,then he had Paul do it with the gospel of grace.

    Ephesians 1:1; Who is the “us” in vs 3 and following? ‘The faithful saints in Christ Jesus’ of course. v12 reiterates that again “we who had already put our hope in Christ” were the ones predestined. v13 finishes it “In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed.” So we were sealed with the Holy Spirit, predestined by God and given an inheritance WHEN we believed NOT before.

    Not so great Bible exposition - all generally means all, especially if no modifiers, and it makes sense too - without the Calvinist strait jacket and blinkers. God does not say what He does not mean - when will you realise that, James? His promises are not covered with small print. All included is all throughout the Bible. God does not want the wicked to die. He bore the sins of the whole world. God so loved the world ... the Saviour of the world, especially of those who believe. Doctrine is based on Bible, you do not take the Bible and squash it into a man made doctrine, made by the "Pope" of Geneva. We need to follow our Saviour, and His Word, above all, and check all the teaching we get to see it fits in with all the Bible. Not easy, so we need His help.

    Ok, so around 8:40 in the video, Dr. White talks about how if all sin is put on Christ (i.e. Universalism), then people can't be punished for that sin. Fair enough. But I don't think that's what's in view here. I think Dr. White presents a false dichotomy, it's either atonement only for the sins of Christians, or for all sins ever committed. He presents sin as these concrete units of moral failure that God has bundled up and placed upon Christ at a single point in history (regardless of when these moral failures happened chronologically). I think this is more an outgrowth of Calvinist philosophy, than something plainly stated in Scripture (again, fair enough). Using this mindset, Dr. White implies that if world does not specifically mean Christians that the passage turns into universalism. I would differ with Dr. White here by saying that within a free will/nature approach, God can add any sin committed to Christ on the cross from whatever point in time it is confessed. I would also contend that in 2 cor 5:18-19 Paul makes the specific case of Christians being reconciled to God, then generalizes the particular by saying God was reconciling the world to himself and made Christians the messengers. I think that the generalization from Christians to world shows what Paul is actually saying. That God no longer withholds forgiveness from people, and that Christians must tell everyone that they can be reconciled. There is a distinction between what Christ did on the cross and an individual's reconciliation with God - one is a means to relationship, the other is a restored relationship. One is purely an act of God which no one and nothing could have stopped, the other is an action taken on the basis of God's prior action (regardless of whether or not this second action is caused by God or not). Therefore, when someone hears the message of reconciliation, they can freely respond to it without requiring that Christ paid for every concrete sin ever committed (past, present and future). As a result the charge of universalism is invalid because not all sins committed by all people are required to be forgiven, but only those that are brought to God by those who come to him (and which God chooses to forgive). As for the comments about man thinking he's in the position of power because he has any role to play in accepting salvation, I'll chalk them up to differences in worldview. If a rich man sees a starving man and decides to feed him, the rich man buys food and gives it to the starving man. The starving man could say to himself that the rich man shouldn't be praised for what he's done because he (the poor man) hasn't eaten the food. Is the rich man unable to force the poor man to eat the food? No, he could hire people to subdue the man and force feed him, if that's truly what he wanted to do. But out of compassion he gave someone who lacked his basic needs what that person needed to live. That is praiseworthy in and of itself, regardless of what the poor man chooses to do with it. Someone with Dr. White's worldview would probably claim that the story demonstrates a "synergistic" relationship, but it doesn't. It's not cooperation in salvation being demonstrated, it's complete dependence upon the kindness of God. The fact that you are the object of God's compassion does not make you the author of your salvation, but the recipient. Hebrews 12:22-26 22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, 23 and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. 25 See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven.

    James white, like most Calvinists, does not understand the atonement. I did a whole video about it. It’s only 25 minutes long. Essentially, there is a corporal and an individual aspect to the atonement. Jesus accomplished work of bearing the wrath, reserved for sin, from the father, while having no sin, reconciled mankind back to the father. Full stop 🛑. Everything above, this far, is strictly between the father and the son. Man has not been involved yet and mans sins have not been involved yet. This is all of Christ’s work and it is fully accomplished, such that the fathers just wrath has been satisfied. Now, we must choose to submit to Christ in faith, and once we have put Christ on, and we remain steady and grounded in the faith, the father will see us at the end of this life, and see the one who already bore the wrath (if we have submitted to Jesus Christ and our Christ on), or see us with our sins still around our neck and we get punished for it. Video can be found here. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iGd_kqqvYtiYXdY.html I have a short 5-6 minute analogy at the end of the video to elaborate my perspective. Bible verses as follows: 2 Corinthians 5:18-21 KJV [18] And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; [19] To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. [20] Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. [21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Colossians 1:20-23 KJV [20] And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. [21] And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled [22] In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: [23] If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

    That brings up the question. Did God die for the elect because of something they did without Him or as a result of Him? The autonomous will approach says that yes. God just made salvation possible, but it's because you would believe without a change in you that He decided to die for you. Almost like looking down the corridors of time sort of deal. God is just responding to you and worked retroactively from that.

    @Rolan Your assumption is that man is even capable of responding positively to God. The “poor starving man” in your analogy is inaccurate. More accurately it would be the rich man comes across a man who has just starved to death, breathes life into him and offers him bread. Before we are regenerated, we are dead in our sins, in the flesh we cannot submit to God. Romans 8:5-8 (NASB): 5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, 8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Ephesians 2:1-5 (NASB): 1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. 3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)

  • @UnlimitedMercy

    @UnlimitedMercy

    @@craigjoyner9857 You assume as Rolan does that man in the flesh is able to respond positively to God. Jesus himself tells us that we are slaves of sin (John 8), unable to come to Him unless the father draws (John 6), and Paul clearly tells us that those who are in the flesh cannot please God (Romans 8). Additionally, your position keeps Christ on the cross continually paying for each new sin that is brought before Him. It fundamentally changes the price He pays, therefore He couldn’t have paid the price in full for all those that would draw near to Him. He could not have said, “It is finished.” The cross was a once for all time sacrifice and now He lives evermore to make intercession before the father on behalf of those for whom He died. (Romans 6&8, Hebrews 7)

    One has to marvel at Dr. White's schtick in how he plays rope-a-dope on other Protestants when discussing the interpretation of scripture. 1. Begin with sola scriptura as the basis for dialogue. 2. Then conform the scriptures entirely to Calvinism's five point TULIP so that no other point of interpretation can be allowed. 3. When the other person offers an alternative interpretation of scripture, question their intelligence as to how they are so blind that they cannot see that Calvinism is exactly what the scripture is teaching, that they are in fact one and the same thing. Summary: Rope them in with sola scriptura and then pummel them with dogmatic Calvinism. Behind the facade of theological dialogue, it's a great game that Dr. White has been playing for many years with fellow Protestants, and he really seems to enjoy it as it provides him a sense of superiority over others which perhaps he craves. Did he grow up in an environment where he was belittled? Whatever the case, the spirit of John Calvin rests upon Dr. James White.

    As I urged you when I was leaving for Macedonia, stay on in Ephesus to instruct certain people not to spread false teachings, nor to occupy themselves with myths and interminable genealogies. Such things promote useless speculations rather than God's redemptive plan that operates by faith. But the aim of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith. Some have strayed from these and turned away to empty discussion. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not understand what they are saying or the things they insist on so confidently. realizing that law is not intended for a righteous person, but for lawless and rebellious people, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, sexually immoral people, practicing homosexuals, kidnappers, liars, perjurers - in fact, for any who live contrary to sound teaching. This accords with the glorious gospel of the blessed God that was entrusted to me. To do this you must hold firmly to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck in regard to the faith. Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme. 1 Timothy 1:3-7, 9-11, 19-20

    Mr. White, what's the point of confession and repentance if God is all knowing??? Why do we/you pray when God already knows what you need even before you ask??? Your theology has so many holes, it doesn't hold water. Simple logic, if GOD put a chip in my head, so that i can be able to confess my sins, because without the chip i cannot be able to , then He will forgive me, doesn't that suggest something??? That God is just fooling Himself??? What kind of sanctification and justification is that???😂😃🤣
