Direk Mike Tuviera started his professional production career as a PA, making coffee for legendary auteur Mike de Leon just days after he graduated from Ateneo.
He climbed his way up the ladder to become 2nd Assistant Director, and then to writer, to First Assistant Director to 2nd Unit Director and finally to full-fledged TV and Film Director.
He is proud to have been the first Filipino to have been accepted into the University of Southern California's (USC) Film Production Program, earning his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in 2004.
After having worked in Disney, Wes Craven Films, and various companies, he came home to the Philippines to return to his filmmaking career.
In 2014, he won Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Film awards for his Cinemalaya entry, the heist-hitman hybrid film "The Janitor". He maintains a schizophrenic directing career, jumping from indie action films to the hit romcom "Imagine You and Me" to MMFF blockbusters such as "Jack Em Popoy" and "Mission Unstapabol". He is currently writing and attached to direct a murder-mystery, a genre he is passionate about.
He is now the President and CEO of APT Entertainment, Inc, producing content for TV, Film, and Digital platforms.
