@@ThanosWasRightt As far as I know, yeah they were. I remember hearing that when they were originally making Hybrid Theory, they obviously needed to find a producer for their first album. The first producer they worked with cut them an amazing deal, but it was under the stipulation that the band cuts Mike Shinoda because they didn't believe Linkin Park's Rap-Rock mixture with two front men was going to work. Chester basically told the guy to eat shit since he wouldn't abandon Mike under any circumstance. They decided to take the leap of faith and look for another producer, which for a brand new band this decision could've been damning, but of course we all know how Hybrid Theory turned out. Linkin Park truly created a masterpiece, there are plenty of legendary rock bands with smash hit albums out there like Queen, AC/DC, and Led Zeppelin, but Hybrid Theory is unique in that not just a few songs, but EVERY SINGLE SONG on that album is an unforgettable hit. Even 23 years later I can recite every lyric to every song on that album, and I know I'm not alone in this. I think It'd be safe to say that a group of band members capable of dropping an Album like Hybrid Theory, followed closely by the almost equally as legendary Meteora, had to have been nothing short of best friends.

Stumbled acros this video. I was part of the crowd. I saw Mike two times on this tour. I did not get the chance to see LP live. Then I was in NYC 2018. First day there, a friend wrote me that Mike Shinoda played at Pier 17. Checked the trains, bought a ticket and had one of the best evenings in my life. After that, I bought tickets for Oberhausen because I live in that area. Still an amazing evening. But that NYC moment was one of the most amazing days in my life. Crazy. Love this video as a memory. Thanks for uploading ! :)

The tendency to think in all or nothing ways, to see things as all good or all bad is one of the cognitive distortions associated with depression. The solution is trying to see the shades of gray, but that's easier said than done. I've struggled with depression my whole life, and I've worked as a therapist for 20 years, so I know how hard it is to achieve that. But it's worth trying. It's worth fighting that fight. And the gift Chester gave us was helping us all to feel a little more heard and a little more seen, and in identifying so strongly with that we help each other to feel a little more heard, and a little more seen, and a little bit less alone. Never stop fighting. And never stop caring about each other. That's what drove Chester, and remembering that and spreading that message is the best way that we can honor him. ♥️

Linkin Park always mixes up my feelings. Live performance is just different... I was sitting in the train with closed eyes. First it pulled me down and i was about to cry but then the people started singing - my tears which came from my bad feelings turned into tears of happiness. Being together, especially singing together, helps to get over your dark side. Somehow i feel happy to have a side like this because it shows that we need each other. Thank you for being here and singing with us!

I love how the audience sings the chorus melody in the "wrong key", but it COMPLETELY works, it doesn't even matter :) That melody is so good and timeless!

almost 6 years.... I still cant bring myself to listen to your song one more light even though its been this long. thank you LP for being the people everyone knows you as. You are amazing, all of you. 6 years and still you are saving lives. you will never know in just words how much your music means to me, how much you all mean to me. Mike I dont know if you will read this but just so you know you are so amazing, you are so considerate, you talk like everything will be okay and you give us all hope that even though we may not think things will be great they eventually will get better. You are literally the most inspiring person ever. Even when things get to you you still push through it and you inspire me to do the same. thank you so much for being the people you are, we love you so much. LP FOREVER!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

He looked at this immense loss.. and decided to deal with it by just openly talk. About what he misses about his friend. About how he truely feels. Takes character. Its the vibe that used to pull us trough with LP back in the day. I'm happy to see that vibe is still very much alive ❤ the new generation deserves to experience it as much as we did. You might have lost Chester, but you saved all of us. Thanks Mike

Notice how he closes his eyes when he sings. He's remembering the good memories he made with Chester when recording these songs. The singing is actually getting him through the trauma.

I'm sure he does cry sometimes. He has said it was difficult to get through songs in the beginning without losing it But I think he has reached a point where performing and hearing people sing for Chester has become celebratory and positive for him. In private... I'm sure he has cried plenty.
