You can see Mike knows how much this means to Chester. All he wants is his friend to know how much he is loved and it feels like Chester never really knew or believed it. You can see as well how grateful Mike is to the fans for showing Chester just how much appreciation and love they have for him and the band. The whole situation Its just so sad🥺🥺🥺

fully correct ! I think Chester realised what an impact he had on people, but it put a lot of pressure on his both fragile and strong shoulders. I think it scared him, he felt as if he wasn't able to live up to a certain standard certain people set for him. Although we as fans always loved (and will love) him for who he was. A gentle, caring and humble soul, a loving father who openly spoke about his struggles...Struggles, traumas and persistent demons he unfortunately had to deal with since childhood/youth. Such a pity he took the decision to end it all...

There is an interview where Chester explains very well what goes on in his head. It's very sad, but tremendously true and sincere. "It's like there's another Chester inside of me telling me I'm worthless, that I'm an idiot, dragging me down" "When I sing in a crowd I don't see everyone who appreciates and loves me, I only see the one person in the crowd who gives me the wrong looks, and my mind goes into a crisis and I ask myself Why don't you like me? Why don't you do you appreciate me? This is depression." From these words of his you can understand why.
Lady in the pink jacket not being able to hold back her emotions as the crowd gets truly swept up in the song (the 2:41 mark). Love it

Mike wrote this song in like one night. It must be quite a feeling to see your brain child live on in the brains of multiple generations of people. Mike is a genius. I used to be hopelessly in love with Chester when I was a teen but the older I get, the more I appreciate Mr Shinoda. And of course what happened to Chester is a tragedy. May God rest his soul. It is unfair how much baggage he carried with him throughout his life. At the peak of his life, he literally had it all, but in the end it didn't even matter.
No matter how long Chester left us, Linkin Park will always be a part of my soul...
you know you are a legend when you have the crowd to sing the whole song :)

to me, this is their greatest performance edit: as I come back to this again and again, I try to put myself in Chester's shoes even though I know it's frivolous. Still, I like to think for a moment that it must feel good for him to show up at some rando subway station and have so many people sing along; not a concert where it might be expected, but a freaking subway station.

Chris & Chaz they both struggled with similar demons. I'm sure it gave each of them strength when they saw each other pushing through each day and trying to stay positive. I'm sure it impacted Chester tremendously when Chris gave into his overwhelming depression. I hope all people start taking depression and mental illness more seriously and talk openly about it. I'm not sure that Chris Cornell was on the kinds of meds that would help him effectively and I don't know whether Chester was being treated with helpful meds either. They were both amazing people and artists and will always be greatly missed.
RIP Chester.... After seeing this. How can you not want to stay alive! This is so good and i know Chester is watching us from the heavens!

Depression has nothing to do with believing or seeing or feeling the appreciation. He knew all the love from his fans and he really enjoyed it. But depression pulls you down, you are drowning and you are not able to defend bad feelings. It’s nothing you do concisely, it’s overwhelming you completely. Chester was always a funny guy, joking around, trying to tell everyone how enjoyable life is. But his mind was playing him until he saw no other way to defend his bad feelings than to end his life. 😢

There's new evidence being slowly leaked out that he was murdered. Nobody leaves this Earth without leaving a suicide note whom Fathers 6 kids, and is a Godfather to your best friend's children without saying something in writing before you go. ESPECIALLY, one of the most gifted and talented poetic songwriters ever in Chester Bennington. He would say something in writing. I'm a musician... a Musician would do that for family. Cornell and Bennington supposedly hung themselves with a Stretchy Arm Band Workout. Give me a break. So many celebrity dying off like flies, nobody bats an eye... People are so blind to see the Elites at top are keeping people shut. Does nobody even have a clue Marylin Monroe was murdered by the CIA which is in documentation. Rest in Peace Chester... you were truly the best and most honest loving person in the Music Industry.

2000s never will forgotten.
I smile just by looking to Mike, this is a band that mean a lot to a lot of people, we love you Linkin Park, you always be a big part of the live of us!
Absolutely love watching this, it was awesome.. Still listening and watching 25th April 2024.. love to ALL xxx
From the smile Mike constantly wearing while looking at Chester, I can feel how proud Mike is to see his dearest friend shining like a star. Mike is such a warm-hearted guy. I can't imagine how hard it is for him to overcome the loss of Chester......I'm crying.
It's so overwhelming watching it and know that Chester is gone. He looks happy, but you never really know, how one deals with his demons. RIP my brother, you're missed.

Well said. For the pain and darkness to be worse than everything he had to keep him here must have been unimaginable.

This was two days before Chris Cornell died, so it explains why they all seem so happy. Not saying that they weren't as happy after Chris died but it really took a toll on Chester. RIP to both Chester and Chris 😕

If he had demons he could have handled them through Christ. God saves!
I can see how Mike is just reliving the moment within himself, that's so pristine and powerful.
There's something so nice and warm about this video. Goes without saying, but you can really feel here how much he meant to people, and how much they meant to him.
Seeing Mike shinoda so happy looking to chester makes me thinking how he is feeling right now....

I keep coming back to this, when I’m sad, when I’m lost, when I’m occasionally happy - what a wonderful talent he was, and what a loss to the world
"But in the end, it doesn't even matter how hard you try". But what really mattered is how many you helped and touched through all these years. We'll always love you Chester, I hope you found peace, 'in the end"
Mike is absolutely the best. He'll never let Chester beforgotten.
I like how Mike Shinoda kept smiling all the time, like, "dude, they know the whole song". ofcourse. RIP Chester
Chester ❤ and Mike’s face as he watches him. So beautiful. I’m so glad I saw them in person.

So symbolic: as soon as Chester sings his last word from the song, the train behind him starts moving and disappears in darkness. RIP Bro

What else is symbolic is that the words of this song, written by Mike btw, describe Chester's life and it's tragic end. :(
Te imaginas te vas a trabajar se te hace tarde tal ves no llegas o te regresan y de paso o de vuelta te encuentras a linkin park y a chester asi de frente y todo te lo compensa uff. 😢😢😢 QEPD CHESTER I LOVE YOU ❤

Ive known this song since it came out and actually forgot about it but when this played, I still remember every word of the song. One of the song carved to the soul.
When high school kids in far distant countries where English is not even their third or fourth language, know the lyrics by heart, both girls and boys at that, you know you're something special.

I am a teacher of English- as-a-second-language in México City. You are so rigth in this. I was remembering about the time when I started to work at a high school, and desperate enough to get my students attention and cooperation that I played my favorite LP songs to them as a listening exercise. Total success. I was afraid that my boss, a very uptigth lady, would find them not very correct for the school, but they were so well behaved after the immpromtu concert that we didn't have any problems and I became a student fave for the time I was working there. I still use them in class and I have so much to thank them.

This is so right. I am pretty sure most kids of my generation were introduced to english songs through Linkin Park! Numb, Doesn't even matter for me were the first songs that I learnt by heart.
Shame we'll never see a beautiful moment like this ever again RIP Chester

Man, I can totally agree with your thoughts. Sometimes, like the last week, I ask myself how to survive this life when even Chester with all his astonishing Fans, his Band and Crew, Family and Money for the best therapy could not survive this shit. An i am only a poor nobody. Keep your head up Tom! We will find a way to be happy again!
