For this video, the band asked their fans to make little videos showing their "malfunctions" so all of those people are SPG fans In case you didn't notice, the skinny guy with the sign "Overanalyzes things to death"is the guy in silver (The Spine) and the orange-mustachioed guy with the sign that says "procrastination" is the bronze fella with the mustache (Hatchworth) and the lady laying in bed with the sign "Transgender" with the weird pink bunny plushie is the main singer (Rabbit). They're all amazing people.

I love that Isabelle (Rabbit) is finally herself. She's beautiful being happy in her skin.

they actually all do their own makeup, according to their website, it can take 1-2 hours lol

Their makeup artist? Themselves! Each robot assembles itself before every performance. The channel has a few timelapse videos showing their process. Since they were originally a mime group, the makeup came first, then the performance.

As a huge Steam Powered Giraffe fan it’s good to see more reactions to them. I would recommend Hot On The Trail. 🙂

Try their song Honeybee. You two have managed something rare(-ish). While there are a few songs to which I'll watch _anybody_ react, the reactors I come back to again & again are almost exclusively those who are musicians or voice coaches, who give technical information about _why_ they have the reactions they do. You're now in the "return" class, despite not hitting those marks. Well done, keep it up!

@@mari97216 oh all their songs are good but some are a bit silly so it depends on what kind of music you like. I love the songs sleep evil sleep, steamboat shenanigans, hot on the trail, malfunction, I'll rust with you, shattered stars, and me and my baby (Saturday night) those are some of their less silly songs but they also have songs about fun characters like rex marksly, suspender man, the ballad of delilah morreo, and hatch fever. :) and some faster songs like overdrive and mechto amore are great too! Hope you find more songs you like by them

I love pretty much every song SPG has done. Refreshing to have a reaction to something other than Automatonic Electronic Harmonics or Honeybee

heard a couple of their songs before and though "baaah" but this songidea is brilliant and empowering

I'm glad you kept the painting. And congrats on the 10,000!!!! You guys really deserve it. Hopefully more people will start watching some of these other unusual artists you find. This was definitely a different band look. I liked the song, but you have to wonder if they need the face painting gimmick. That can hold bands back in the long run, Kiss being the notable exception.

It's actually way more than just a face painting gimmick. They started out busking on the street, and they've created an entire backstory where they're robots from the past and it gives their music a really interesting perspective. They also do live shows that are somewhere between concerts and live comedy, with some improv and some sketches/bits that are planned. It's really impressive live because they do the robot-like motion, including making mechanical-sounding noises, basically the entire time they're on stage, which isn't easy to do well in the first place.

I wish you 100k subs, u deserve it :). Damn the very 1st thing i saw was that TV with the electronic smile. Reminded me of an 80's movie called "electric dreams" and i used to play Jeff Lynn's song called "video" alot, it was catchy , lol. This song to me was more about the video, costumes, great makeup and production. The malfunctions listed, although I wouldn't agree were all malfunctions certainly depict an underlying statement that we do have alot, so it did have meaning too. I really liked it. The vocals were great! Never heard of the band so I'm interested in checking them out further. Thx again M&G, great reaction !

Steampunk is the basic vibe of SPG, basic lore being that the 'bots' were built in 1896 for combat copper african elephants and after that was done they went into music. The band's music covers many genres so it's tough to pin them to any one. Also, all 3 members of the band (at the time of the video, one has left now) were also present out of makeup in the video with their own 'malfunctions' (the brother and sister winked)
