Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Well Mike only was in the game canonically for about 7 years. He joined Gus in ‘02 and worked with him throughout BCS, then died in what would canonically be ‘09, considering Walt spent the next few months running the game with Todd and then went into hiding for almost a year before dying himself in 2010. By that logic, Tyrus or Victor are better suited to their jobs than Mike is. They’d been with Gus years earlier than he had, and only died a few months before he did.
@SirDog

@@tedioussugar384 Mike had a lifetime of experience before meeting Gus. He was a crooked cop before moving to Albuquerque, so it's easy to assume that he knows the ins and outs of being a criminal more than anyone in the show. And, while not explicitly said, he was most likely a Vietnam War veteran too based on what was shown of him in BCS.
Mike’s eye roll after discovering his shot ear might be my favourite moment in the whole series. It’s like he’s saying to himself “Ugh not again”
Love the surviving Twin Hospital scene. There’re 20 cops in the Hospital lobby when all of a sudden there’s a commotion and the Cops (and Walt) start rushing upstairs as word began to spread that the Twin was dying. 12:05 mikes best moment
Nearly every one of Mike's lines is iconic, because he says so little. The junkyard scene when they test the magnet is brilliant, just because Mike is so sceptical. His 'Miller time' line is hilarious.
2:05 as somewhat satisfying as this moment is, it hurts looking back, knowing Heisenberg probably decided right then when he was staring at the ceiling trying to catch his breathe that one day, if he has even the tiniest excuse he’s gonna kill Mike himself.
"Put ur d away Waltu."
The way he masterminded his sons murderers is the best to me.
11:09 Directed by Quentin Tarantino
Mike: Drink your drink. Walt: (continues rambling) Mike: So you have chosen Death.
Finger
Love how he gets part of his ear blown off and he just looks mildly annoyed about how it’ll look.
Mike: *lost a piece of his ear* Also Mike: *upset grumble*
Just because you shot Jesse James don’t make you Jesse James
11:40: Teamwork makes the dream work.
9:15 no half measures, eh mike? should have listened to your own advice
Perfect way to start my Saturday morning thank you for posting!

I know wtf I just woke up next thing u know im watch mike clean house with that cool ass silencer and music playing
I like how Mike waits his turn before he messes you up. "..Are you done?.." *BOOM!
4:15 he's not hurt, he just annoyed
That has to be one of the best depictions of a silenced weapon in hollywood. People usually see that long ass can on the front of an automatic/self-loading weapon and think "Oh well it's gonna go "pew pew" itty bitty noise. The problem is (for those not familiar with firearms) guns are loud, even if you remove the noise from the bullet being fired. You're still gonna hear the loud cracking of the action, when an automatic pistol is fired the gas is still pushing back on the slide and bolt of the weapon, causing it to jerk back violently, kick the empty bullet casing free and load the new round then snap back forward as spring tension pushes the bolt and slide back forward with equal amounts of pressure. There is no way to silence that on a self-loading weapon beyond perhaps *VERY* exotic designs to reduce the noise of the slide/action.
Mike is solid and utterly comfortable with who he is.
11:22 what the fuck was this guy running shooting at?

prefiring the hallway beccause of noise from shoe
"Chad do you have anything you wanna tell me?!" ... "She's gonna need her shoe!"
These clips have been turning up in my recommended for a while now. So much so that I've started watching BB and BCS all over again. 😂
Man it's wild seeing BB Mike juxtaposed against BCS Mike. He's far more ruthless and capricious in BB. Still definitely seems like he has remorse, but doesn't mull over murking people on the spot like he does in BCS.
I never expect anything new when it comes to Breaking Bad, but this recent upload from it is great enough 😎.
This is the moment that Mike became Finger.
8:40. He took a half measure. he should of gone all the way.
6:57 only thing I don’t buy is a pro like Mike waiting until he is physically inside the woman’s house within earshot before attaching his suppressor and chambering a round, and the only reason that even stands out to me is because of how thorough the attention to detail was in this show. Anyone conceal carrying with that much experience has one chambered at all times.
Weird how she didnt say i love you back to her daughter when she was clearly scared for her life. You’d think a mom with any ounce of good would say they lived their child if they had a gun to their head

I noticed that too. And I think they did that on purpose to show how she is probably not a loving mother

Good point
Jonathan Banks is arguably the most underrated actor ever. Thanks to this great actor, Mike Ehrmantraut is one of the most iconic badass characters to ever grace the screen, big or small.
11:37 was so clever I can't handle it.
I love the last part of that warehouse scene...."She's gonna need her shoe!"...
Lets be honest mike could be driving an escouter while vaping and still look badass

He even looked badass while wearing shorts and that land of enchantment shirt lol
Mike was the only one that really knew who Walter White was from the beginning. When they talk to each other you just see two legends talking to one another. No playing around no games.
I had not realized he aged so much from the beginning until the end of the series. You just have to love Mike...and always pray he is on your side in a fight.
Walt- “Mike, do I have to come right out and say this? You and I, are both bald.” Mike- “Drink your drink.”
I love how Mike is smart and not braindead like others and not double tap their enemies
