I would call it rivals banter or “former” in their case. Their cool with each other but they aren’t friends or crewmates like that which I appreciate. Mihawk calls him “half a man” and Shanks mocks him by saying that he could take on Mihawk with one arm. But Mihawk shows him Luffys first bounty which served no other purpose but to make Shanks happy and Shanks not only offers Mihawk to come and drink/party with them but here it also reveals that Shanks used to tell Mihawk stories and stuff. I like that, rivalries don’t always have to be bad ones.

I love how Mihawk is such a tsundere with Shanks. He talks trash but he still cares about his feelings to the point that he traveled all the way from the east blue to the new world and found what ever island Shanks was on just to show him Luffy’s first bounty, which would do nothing for him and would only make Shanks happy. And he also tells Luffy “I do like your hat” another nod at Shanks.

@pruitv3 All you want is to complain. If you've read manga and watched anime, you know that they did a great job. The live-action adaptation was expensive, but overall, it was a great story. Manga and anime are too long to watch and read, yet they still managed to summarize it well. When you were in elementary and high school, your teachers always wanted you to read a long story and then summarize it. If you get my point, live action is a summary of a manga. Don't complain if you are only watching on an illegal website; you are still not a true fan, lol.

this show was so good I didn't want it to end, hopefully netflix keeps this same spirit/attitude towards the series so we can enjoy many, many seasons!!!

A little detail I appreciated is that when Mihawk reaches for the poster, Yasopp, Lucky Roux, and most of Shanks' men go for their guns, except for Benn Beckman. Since Beckman is Shanks' first mate and his oldest and most trusted friend, he probably was already familiar with Mihawk and knew he was telling the truth about not wanting a fight.

It really is heart warming to see how proud Shanks is of Luffy. The smiles they all have when they realize the kid they knew has grown up and is on his way to reaching the dream he always spoke of.

At 1:14 "I thought you were hangover" 😂 . The look on mihawks face 😂😂, probably thinking like "ahh here we go again, this dude never changes" 😂😂

I love that Shanks doesn't even flinch, or move at all until Mihawk speaks. Goes to show that he trusts his men to keep him safe.

Also Shank’s crew has the highest bounties in average, meaning shanks has the strongest crew in the world when it comes to each individual. His crew is very small compared to other pirate crew but every guy is extremely strong

It's basically impossible to notice any kind of accent in japanese, such a "alien" language for westerners... however, when live action Mihawk talks with a heavy spanish accent, it's just perfect, it fits 100%, he is anime Zorro (the "real deal" Zorro, the most well know and popular swordsman in mainstream media), of course he is spanish, even more than Doflamingo himself

I love live-action Shanks so much! Peter Gadiot is an amazing actor who really embodies and delivers every aspect of Shanks, from his humor and breezy good cheer, to his immense inner power as a great pirate captain, to his sincere kindness and warmth. He was always such a great role model of a good and emotionally mature man in the manga, and the live-action version captured that all so perfectly and made it look even more natural/embodied thanks to Peter’s performance. He only got a handful of scenes in three episodes, but I am a huge fan of live-action Shanks already!

That “arm tied behind my back” joke is something Shanks would say in the anime. Perfect delivery 😂

I love how the actors of Mihawk and Shanks are. They really studied the characters so well. I would also like to applaud the rest of the actors in this adaptation, they all nailed it and especially the people behind. I am really hoping to have another season of it. It was really is amazing!!

Bad news. We've been waiting like 25 years to see him in action in the anime and we are still waiting. I think something finally happened with him in the manga recently but that is spoiler territory. Unless the LA decides togo in a different direction, we probably won't see Shanks for a long time. The build up for Shanks has been crazy.

When someone make fun of a dude who is considered the strongest swordman in the world and he doesn't kill you for it, you will know that character is badass

Shanks is such a nice man. Must be quite tedious to go about without an arm. With the live action, you can relate and understand why Luffy treasure his hat so much and why he was stubborn to accept Garp’s Will. It’s because of Shanks and Garp knows this well. He understands his own grandson too much

OP live action is awesome. The actors who plays the important characters really nail their role. Even the child actors did really well. This is the best anime adaptation, hands down.

Man gotta love how good and true these guys are to the source material while still showing the audience that it really is live action

I just love all of this, specially the crew. They're always the first to react but when Shanks let it pass, they just roll with it and banter... even then, they're on alert to protect their captain. They nailed the loyalty and friendship Luffy wants to have one day with his crew.

Shanks cracked his voice to make it look exactly like Shanks deserved our respect.

I love One Piece so much that if they need extras when the time comes, I'd be happy to fill in for those background people for free. Damn, imagine this series going up to where it is now, new fans have no idea what they got themselves into.

This show is actually good, we finally got an adaptation that lives up. Honestly this might be the best anime adaptation we ever had

Shanks is an incredibly hard character to play because somehow his 2d character just oozes charisma but this actor nailed it IMO

The One Piece is indeed real!

The thing i give props to is unlike most ani.e to live action adaptions one piece feels like the cast and crew genuinly care and tried to really make it something special when i heard it was being made i though oh crap here we go but i am impressed with it

I love how this is pretty close to the anime/manga, but with the added “one arm tied behind my back” joke and even Mihawk admitting he’ll stay for a drink.

This is one of the best scenes of the live action, definitely, even yasopp saying: "we should watch our backs" because of luffy yes, but even because in the wanted posters usopp is shown with his back. I might overthinking it but I think that dialogue wasn't a coincidence, and I like it

Shank red haired pirates are pretty chill and kind people❤

Honestly! This scene is easily one of my favorites in the series.

They really nailed it. The actors, the writers, the directors, EVERYONE. In fact, I prefer this version over the Manga and Anime versions due to Shanks' joke 😂. NGL though, I can't imagine THAT Benn Beckman actor saying "Don't move a muscle, Kizaru!" 😂😂😂.

Now this is a well made Live Action, the actors are on point, the characters are fun to watch and have even charm. Not to mention that their cheerfulness is contagious. I love it!

That little Exhanging of jokes between Mihawk and Shanks made me smile so much!

I'm one of the very few people who loves this Shanks more than this Mihawk. I used to doubt him because of the trailer, but man, LA Shanks is perfect, actually.

The joke "i have one arm tied behind my back” is really subtile ! Shanks, like Luffy, believe in his crew to protect him ! 😉

Oh boy don’t get me started on live action Shanks rn 🥵🔥 Seeing a picture of him is literally what made me watch the show in the first place (I was saw a bunch of good reviews so I probably would have, but I was waiting on it because I didn’t know much about the series), and then I started the anime, then the manga, watched some of the movies, etc. and now I’m a full blown One Piece addicted nakama! And it’s all because I saw a photo of a sexy ginger pirate man and wanted to know more about him! 😂

Mihawk is spot on. Favorite character from the series for sure.

Ryan Gosling killed it as Shanks.

Love that the Warlord makes sure to look intimidating as hell while the Emperor is fine looking like a homeless man.

I love how Shanks' attitude towards people is just "45 year old who cant be bothered"

I liked the background laughing guy with a very high pitched voice

Goddamm they even gave mihawk his own background music wherever he goes! This live action is living up to the hype lol

"With one arm behind my back" My god that was good.

The 'around the world' segment in the final episode with everyone reacting to Luffy's new poster and this scene were so damn on point.

Now i understand why they gave Shanks role to this dude, he rly charismatic

Love that the actors aren't all just cosplay lookin mofos, and all seem real, with different accents and their own personal touch on the characters
