Since I've been denied entry, I've met so many people who either wouldn't travel to the USA or would not want anything to do with the USA. I'm not overly negative but it's a ridiculous situation to be in. I've not been back for 8 years and didn't see my kids for 6 years!

My frail mother who is a breast cancer survivor and worked her way up from poverty just had her car totaled by someone with no license running a red light in an SUV. His brother who let him drive and a kid were in the car with him. My mother has to bear the cost as well as the county. My compassion is in the deep negative territory. Not far from Mother's Day and we were close to burying her.

It’s funny though, because I’ve never voted blue nor has anyone of my family. I have friends who once upon a time voted blue, but haven’t in years, and they say the same regarding their associates. We are in Mass, 10 mins from Boston… I would wager that Ma isn’t actually as blue as they would like others to think. Compassion and cost should not be conflated as one in the same. It doesn't matter whether or not you want to show compassion if your country simply can not afford the cost of being compassionate with no limits. Why is it so terrible to say that? The real question is....can the US cities, towns, and the country for that matter afford this absorbent "cost" (in the name of compassion) without said cost disrupting the dreams and goals for a better life of our own American families? If I have to choose being compassionate towards my own kids and family vs. that of migrant families, I am sorry, no matter how unpopular it may sound, I will choose the welfare of my own family (first, every time). Just uttering political talking points and phrases like "that's not who we are" or "showing compassion" does not drive down the price of gas and food in our stores nationwide. So, if being compassionate is causing my family to struggle from said cost, I am resigned to be a little less compassionate as my responsibility is to take care of my own family point-blank-period and I don't care who likes it. 200 dogs, puppies and healthy young dogs are euthanized all over usa. In Lancaster, Carson, Downey and Riverside CA this is each day. AS of now they are not even putting them asleep first, just euthanizing while dogs fight back. It is so sad. Many are pets given up bc families are homeless. Shelters claim they kill due to lack of space and funding. How can this be when congress just passed a 93BIL dollar aid to Ukraine and Israel. Surely, they wouldn't if they didn't have surplus funding, would they? When the Sudanese begin raping young girls and elderly the way they did in Germany Boston will wake up and start taking care of their own first. Charity begins at home!

If people are seriously seeking asylum in these numbers then there needs to be a travel ban in place to prevent travel to those countries if theyre that dangerous and all funding and trade needs to be stopped. If they are not that bad, then send people home. Seems most are coming demanding to be supported. Americans are not in any economic position or have the resources to take on millions of new mouths to feed. I know quite a number who go back and forth to Mexico to shop and see the dentist but are here for "assylum". Meanwhile Americans are facing homelessness due to natural and economic crisis. We still haven't started to rebuild Lahaina. Tornadoes are tearing up Oklahoma this week. Detroit still without safe water, California homelessness is off the charts. These Americans pay taxes. Theyre losing or have lost their jobs. Homeless, unemployed people who cant afford food or rent should not be pressed by the government to host a party for a bunch of out of towners, it just doesn't make sense. And anyone here without citizenship that participates in civil unrest needs to be immediately detained, deported, and permanently barred from reentry, Americans have enough going on without outsiders inciting riots.

Tax refusal is a valid form of protest.

Immigration has always been the staple of the beginning of this country but mass migration is unsustainable! This country can't afford this many migrant people at 10-15 million people in 4 years! our national debt is $34.5 trillion. People will come to this country for a better life at the expense of the US tax payers! We are sinking this country by death of a thousand cuts! The real question is how many of the migrants will be able to sustain a real living wage without getting on the government doll! I want to help out Americans that need help first! We need build better schools (especially in the inner city areas), we need to help out our homeless vets, and provide a better future for our kids right now to compete with the world economy in the future. I guess what I'm saying is if your a life guard, you have to help yourself before you can save someone who is drowning. We need to do the same for our country before its too late. Please only elect people into office who have our best interest at heart!

Many of these cities haven't voted republican for 60 years. Now they're saying they may vote republican bcuz of the immigration issue and high prices for everything. I bought a cheeseburger last week and it cost $10+ tax. The last time i bought the exact same thing a few months ago it was $6. Thats a 67% increase in 3 months. I hear in some places for a Big Mac it costs $18 here in California.

The elected officials don't care what the citizens want or think. And you will pay what you are told to pay

I remember we learned about the concept of “Carrying Capacity” (K) in biology. It basically states that every ecosystem has a finite number of resources, and therefore, a finite number of organisms it can support. This applies to cities as well, and we are seeing the limits of Carrying Capacity being tested as resources are actively reallocated to different organisms, causing massive distress. Governments did not understand this, let alone anticipate it.

The "compassionate" people won't change their minds until the situation affects their family directly in a real way.

Imagine if the rolls were reversed and Americans were flooding into thier countries. I don't think we would be shone much if any help or compassion. I grew up in California and moved to Nevada at 18 in 1980. I'm use to immigrants coming over the border, just not in the mass numbers that their coming in now. Back then the cities didn't supply them housing or money when they made it into the US. They had to figure it out for themselves or had someone already here to stay with, and they helped them. And whatever became of the Dreamers. Did they ever get their citizenship they were promised? There's a difference between Freedom and a Freeride.

I’m amazed at our leaders who want an open order. There is no other nation that has that. A country should know who is living inside its borders.

It's so refreshing to see my fellow Americans actually acknowledging what is going on.

Government raised taxes every year to some new bill, why not reduce taxes so our citizens can have more in our pockets ?

Boston here. The Seaport District is the newest development in the city. High end, expensive. The migrants have been put up there mostly because there are enough hotels. If you walk down to that part of town you really don't see any mass of people. To the Governor's credit she has thus far refused to extend funding for the housing. So we'll see what happens in a couple months when the emergency funds run out.

Compassion is not letting them come when we have no where for them to go and no money to support them. You can't take care of people if you aren't taking care of themselves.

Let the compassionate people club together to house, feed and pay their way. They can deal with the _consequences_ of their vote. Compassion from a distance is easy.

Remember the boston tea party

Funny in the hood of Boston they just shut down our rec-centers and moved them in during the night. But when they go to the seaport (upper-class) they have a community meeting about it. Now the governor is trying to find ways to tax us more to pay for all this.

You cant even begin to conceived all the requirements I had to be subjected to before my visa was stamped and I was allowed to board a plane to Chicago. It took two years for me because of all the documents, affidavits, medical exams, and vaccinations I had to fulfill first. From Chicago, I finally moved to Indiana to raise my family. Its in Indiana that became a voting citizen. Our legislators in Indiana passed a law in 2011 that banned any town or city from declaring itself to be a sanctuary city for illegal aliens. It also uses e-verify a a prerequisite for employment in the state. So our leaders anticipated this problem before it reared its ugly head like it’s doing in major cities today.

And they do not show any of this on the mainstream media, I live in boston

Does your compassion allow you to let in everyone inside your own home willingly without your permission ? I imagine, maybe for one reason because you have children, that you scrutinize anyone before they are allowed inside your home, and for valid reasons? 2 things: 1. People have a right to emigrate (leave a burning building) but they do not have a right to immigrate (they can't say, "I'm living in your house now."). 2. Compassion - Com = with, passion = suffering > with suffering. Talk is cheap, compassion is a virtuous act of selflessness for the sake of another. If you say, "Not in my back yard." then don't talk about compassion at all. Yes must mean yes and no must mean no. We must have rule of law and it must be enforced, that is civilized, sanctuary cities are not that.
