I've had those days where it's difficult to stop, where I'm physically tired and I can barely get my words out straight, and the sun's about ready to disappear, but you just can't ignore those good sounding targets on the way back to the car. I'm usually very reluctant to stop, when I'm on great hunting grounds, and I can see that you are too! I hope I'm lucky enough to find a spot like yours again, I'd happily wear myself out there too! That place just keeps giving out the good stuff! Another great hunt Gary! Cheers Mate!

Hi Wayne. If I ignored those good signals,I'd be wondering what it might have been when I got home.So better to dig straight away.A few minutes later to get home should be ok with the wife .....hopefully. Cheers.

Great lot of silver there Gazza. That brass thingy you found first up was a corset catch. Don't throw that away. Cheers John.

Hi Jeff.I've found a few of those sixpences over the years and they're always very worn. Great history - they don't get much older here.Cheers.

Good hunt Gary. Congrats on all the silver coins. Improved is what is written at the top of the button and the brass thing you found at the start was a corset fastener. You certainly had a ripper time out. Take care mate 😁👍

Thanks Andrew. I've certainly done well on the silvers there. After watching one of your recent videos,I then realized that the word is "Improved".Thought it may have been a corset fastener, but wasn't sure.I very rarely find them. I've had a great time out on every hunt around there as there's always more good stuff to find. Cheers.

Some very nice silvers among the finds, Gary. In recent years found applied to the older coins grading each side's condition, like the 1817 GIII, good fine one side, very fine the other, nice details. A thought maybe the extra fine 1918 3d came here with returning services as souvenir or loose change readily accepted here. As the sites seem ever giving, many happy returns!

Hi Gabi. Almost every GeoIII coin I've dug is in poor condition.I made the comment to someone once that they were probably worn out in England and then shipped to the Colonies, and they agreed that that may have been the case. I've only rarely dug English coins here from after we had our own in circulation-even up to the 1930's/40's.So I think they were mixed in with our currency for many years.Cheers.

Could you do a video on detector settings, I'm using a Equinox 800. I keep wasting time digging up rocks with iron, thought I had iron discrimination setup properly but am obviously doing something wrong. Even just a video on general tips and tricks that you've picked up over the years would be much appreciated.

Hi. I hadn't thought about that,so possibly might do it sometime. I spent a lot of time on the Nox,but now always use the Manticore. Totally different machine with different settings. With the Equinox I always used the Neil Jones Beach 1 to land settings and found it worked well. Will be on youtube somewhere. Even with the Manticore I sometimes dig large or deep iron,as it can give an "iffy" signal, which might also be something good.Go easy on discrimination,as you can lose good targets as well.Cheers.
