Fun fact - Polish MiG-29s were very much able to use NATO weapons.

I usually take the mig to the deck flanking, going full burner until I hit max speed then never full burner again until i find myself in a proper dogfight. The SMT is amazing at exploiting the longevity.

Yeah I’m jealous, I have the SMT which does have a crazy radar and more flares but the flight performance isn’t great

The big problem with top tier is the bugged RWR. I fly 2-3km behind a teammate, he locks an enemy plane ahead, i get a lock warning too. meaning that most of time i don't know who's actually locking me. on the same way i get missile warnings when teammates shoot at enemies and i have to either ignore it as a false alarm and risk getting shot or try to notch just in case getting myself out of position. now i understand that RWR can give a false positive is someone BEHIND ME locks someone who is ahead of me because i'm in the way of the radar beam but not when he's in front by several km

Pd radars generate a very strong return signal so no its not completely unrealistic

Gosh, Tim. Another great review and video. The aircraft’s history at the beginning and attention to detail adds an extra touch that separates your videos apart from others.

Remember, despite how maneuverable the Mig-29s are, do not enter a 2-circle fight with the F-16. Favor the 1-circle and you should do fine.

After having flown the f16c, f14b and mig29g for a while I'd take the 29 anyway of the week. The missiles are simply better and the fuel and rwr is no issue once you get used to it. SA is key. Having your missiles reach first in a head on with the 27ER/ET is just superior to carrying more missiles like f14. And most of the time you can hold your own in bfm against other fighters. Sure you can win every battle but not every battle is even

close in furball like Ace Combat is really fun if your plane can tango but the problem is not every plane can. I learn that the hard way after comimg back to the game (flying F105) after a very long time out of the loop

r27er is not arguably the best radar missile, it is objectively. taking r73's over 2x27er is pretty bad, taking IR missiles over radar just lets you not think about positioning but it's worse.

I've got a question. why is the Icon so wacky on the FAB-500/250M?

Any reason why you always lock the enemy with the radar while shooting an IR missile? Just for the guns in case the missile didn't hit?

For seeker slaving, to have an accurate rate-of-closure indication so it'll be easier to tell if they're trying some maneuver to force me to overshoot them, and yes for the EEGS if the opportunity comes up.

except that happens all the time. the only thing that doesn't get that is the helicopters at top tier.

3:05, if "multiple ACM targeting frames" refers to the ability to change the radar scope while in ACM mode, (IE change from the tall long ACM mode to a more focused box like in western jets) this might have been correct at the time of uploading, but it's no longer correct at time of my commenting.

There's a running joke on the channel that the snail loves to change minor details of stuff immediately after I post a video about it.

I dont have prem acc, and use stock Mig29G, I already happy with only 2 x R-73. Yeah I can kill like 1-3 enemies easily. But I think this plane have issue while dogfight with F-16 (but thx to R-73 again it save me a lot), the most hardest dogfight for me so far is with Mirage, this plane almost in every single match will lose while dogfight with Mirage even R-73 in many case cant help you while dogfight with mirage.

Its best in GRB as you can dog fight f16 usually 1v1. At top tier i get team killed by friendly missiles if i go into the mosh quiet often. Thw r27's are great but the r73 are so broken its funny 😂 i get kills with my nose facing 90 degres away fron enemies dumoing flares and it still hits them 😂

Any western munitions, *yet :p

He still looses way too much energy in turns compared to f16 and mirage 2k. If you do more than 3 turn u loose

Great plane great review... now all Gaijin has to do is get a fucking grip and provide fun gameplay. RB sucks SB is not only dead since forever but punishes everyone who still wants to play this mode. I am off to DCS where I can fly whatever I want however I want without being punished by some bs economy. I still pay upfront in SB just to spawn the damn plane and I need 3 kills just to break even on that spawn fee... for a plane that I had to grind for ages or even paid for. Very regrettable experience as usual.

Maxed out ace pilot, bruh you need to get a ton of xp on a specific plane to get an ace pilot. they should just remove ace and expert unless they're going to improve the base pilot to be usable with modern jets.

It really hurts watching you sling radar missiles into a group of your teammates.

The radar user interface is so bad in War Thunder.

I've been teamkilled by so many friendly R-73s or 9Ms the last month in top tier. It's just not fun even if you fly the best planes in the game...
