I had this problem too but somebody pointed out that most of the dialogue goes on in their head and the ones that they do say out loud probably weren't heard by the others bc they were so far away. Also deku having green lightning probably throws off the scent bc all might doesn't have that outlook to his power

State smashing is not the quirk. Everybody with a strong enough strenght quirk could do a smash. To them it seems like All might has an always strenght, defense and speed (speed may or may not be related to the strenght in their eyes) quirk while Deku has a strenght boost activation without boosting his defense so he can do smash moves like all might or bounce fast but always being careful of the knockback.

It's a super strength quirk, and they both look different visually. We know from canon that there are a lot of similar quirks anyway. AfO is noted to use multiple different quirks with overlapping abilities to produce a more powerful effect than otherwise.

They do link the two quirks as being similar. That's not exactly solid reasoning to think they're related. The effects of the Stockpile half of OFA is quite rudimentary after all. Just an all around stat boost with the defence boost actually being a physical change and thus taking much longer to manifest.

Men, whenever I rewatch this, I really appreciate all the times and hard work of all the animation maker puts into this. The fight scene was totally insane

The hero he’s admired and wanted to be like ever since he was a little munchkin, admires him in return and totally cares about him. He’s not in All Might’s shadow here, he’s right beside him, as an equal, heading into one of the most deadly battles they’ve faced. They’re not related, but that’s some serious, positive father/son energy right there ❤️

Honestly, there aren't very many animes that have both good English and Japanese dubs. I think the voice actors in both are so perfect and they fit the role so well.

Well, I think it’s just knowing everything they’ve been through together, and now they’re fighting alongside each other for the well-being of everyone. It’s a situation they *have* to win, and I can’t imagine a better way to do it than master and apprentice. Also, it’s a direct reference to the newest generation of One For All following in his master’s footsteps. It’s a brief but powerful scene.

Aside from storytelling the art and animation of this scene is amazing, to me it looks a bit different than the rest of the movie, like they were trying to give a hyper-realistic look to their motion, I legitimately wonder if this was mo capped in some way

@@zxtreme31 for this scene the animators employed a different method yes. It's called Sakuga. Which basically means really high effort animation. They litetally pulled out all the stops. Specifically Sakuga animation is when animators animate literally every frame of that 30 FPS runtime. It makes the whole thing more fluid.

It always brings tears to my eyes when Shoto goes full on Elsa mode

No anime hits you in the feels harder than this one from my experience. Especially everything involving all might is just unbelievably inspirational and hype as hell

this is one of the greatest scenes I have ever witnessed in an anime.

I just love that while Deku is getting ready to deliver his final attack, All Might takes the time to pose.

That ending scene with Midoria smiling triumphantly in the sun's rays makes me cry everytime!
