Just wanted to thank you for an earlier video! Your short story recommendations completely got me out of a reading slump - especially The Six Deaths of a Saint and The English Understand Wool x
Hearing you (my favourite booktuber) talk about June (a friend and one of my favourite authors) is so heartwarming! I'm so happy to hear you loved her books - I always recommend her stuff for fans of k-dramas and similar things and it never misses haha. I remember being a baby bookstagrammer and June being a debut author in 2020 and I posted a review on my insta and tagged her and she was the first author to have interacted with my post. Just so cool all around
Cari, I want you to know that I am a new viewer as of yesterday and I can't stop binging your videos. Your reviews and commentary are so fun and comfortable. It feels like I'm talking about books with my bestie at brunch!

I really want to know how it passed final edits because there was just so much going wrong 😭😭
Watching this on a rainy morning with a cup of sweet chai is perfection! 💖 My fave books this year were Yami-hara, Emily Wilde 2, Strange Weather in Tokyo, A Magical Girl Retires, When Among Crows, Mermaid scales and the town of sand (manga). Book that made me cry was The Goodbye Cat; book that made me happiest was Milk & Mocha comics collection; fav character is Vera Wong from Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers; and book that surprised me most was The New Seoul Park Jelly Massacre! There are too many books I'm looking forward to, esp the new T.Kingfisher, but even if I don't get to all, I'll be satisfied if I can get more 5 stars before the end of the year!🥰
love your video, i will learn from you for my daughter read more book
I'm looking forward to reading: A Sorceress Comes to Call by T. Kingfisher, The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst, The Dubliners by James Joyce, Ninth House and Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo, The Midwich Cuckoos by John Wyndham, Autumn by Ali Smith, and finishing the Throne of Glass series. There are many others I'd like to read by the end of the year, but these are the ones that immediately came to mind.
I think I may have to make a "world building, world building, world building" tote or something 😅 thanks for the video! 💛
I must highly recommend Divergent. Read it for the first time in March and loved it.
I mean yeah definitely wherever you are in the world I look forward to all her new stuff that comes out😂

Can’t wait for the Songbird and the Heart of Stone !!
ahhhh yes!! i’ve been waiting for this one! so glad you decided to do it 😅 also, i feel the same. last year i had such a phenomenal first semester reading wise, and this year nothing really stuck even if i have enjoyed most of them. but hm no scratch that i looked at my goodreads and i’m having a blast 😂 let’s go top 3? 1. a brilliant friend (elena ferrante, she’s a genius only my opinion matters) 2. the hunger games trilogy (a reread, but what a fantastic experience 10 years later) 3. The love hypothesis (we never forget our first ali hazelwood am i right?) most excited to read for the next 5 months: - six crimson cranes (you made me do it) - i want to try an Emily Henry as well, i don’t know which one
I read the arc of A Dark and Drowning Tide and it's soooo good, it was 4.5 stars for me, I hope you enjoy it!
Some of my favorites were Battle Royale by Koushun Takami, The Revenant Games by Margie Fuston, and Atalanta by Jennifer Saint. I also got the Waterstones edition of A Curse for True Love, which is so pretty.
The English Understand Wool is so delightful! Best to go in knowing nothing, I think. (I also found it through Ann Patchett.)
I love putting your long book video's on in the background. So now I have 46 minutes to clean up my apartment. 💮
feeling traslated totally makes sense
I'm really looking forward to The Ashfire King in November. I loved The Stardust Thief and I'm looking forward to re-reading that as well. It's been a long 2 years. No more unfinished trilogies for me lol
The book I'm most looking forward to reading this year is "Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret" from Benjamin Stevenson. It'll be the third installment in the Ernest Cuningham series (following Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone and Everyone On This Train Is A Suspect) and both of those books made my favorites' list last year and this year respectively. Really happy to get another one this coming October.
Don't know what new books I am looking forward to this year, but in 2025 we get a new Hunger Games and Legendborn book. Excited for those the most!!!
I'm getting Snowglobe soon, coz I got to read a first page preview, and I like how it was written/translated. I consume Kdrama, Korean webtoons, and even some of the older manwha, but I haven't read translated Korean books yet, except for some parts of Coffee Prince someone fantranslated. I hope I like it~

Just read Paladins Grace by T. Kingfisher, loved it! Got it on a whim from the library and it’s not my usual type of book but it was so cute. So definitely putting the new release on my radar.
Totally agree with your take on A Fragile Enchantment. I LOVED A Far Wilder Magic, so it was a big disappointment. I'm really looking forward to her new one.
Editing idea, would you mind letting a small visual of the book you're talking about as you are presenting it ? I tend to not quite retain book names until I've read them, as I have more of a visual memory, so having a reminder of the cover at all times would be a great help since I can just take a peak whenever I want to remind myself (I listen to the vids while doing smtg else). That would be really great, thank you for your great vidéos !!!
Lol you saying "20 years ago" about the Divergent books made me stop in my tracks. I read them, just when the first movie came out. And I'm 25 now. So it can't be 20 years 😂

Cari, i totally agree with your take on A Tempest Of Tea. I was so disappointed as well. I wished for tea house shenanigans, a good heist storyline and a new take on the King Arthur legend. None of it was there!! 😢😢 But i loved one of the two romances as well. It unfortunately fell flat for me overall. ❌
I've just recently read We could be so good by Cat Sebastian (I really liked her mystery detective series Page & Sommers a few years ago), and I'm in love with it. So looking forward to reading You should be so lucky. And really want to start with some T. Kingfisher, your reviews are always amazing🤩
I have been in a reading slump for 2 years after finishing Throne of Glass 😅. But I did start The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo and as far as beautiful book covers go - WHEW. I also have When We Lost Our Heads which sounds like a fun read.
I’m really looking forward to Death At Morning House by Maureen Johnson! I absolutely love her Truly Devious series, and her new stand-alone that’s coming out in August sounds just as good!
