In this video we head for a short road trip to go to a Team Titleist Club Fitting to test out the new Titleist TSR Driver and 5 wood. Can the TSR cure a horrendous cut/slice club path... probably not but it looks amazing and me wants one. This is the full hour long club fitting with Team Titleist that I paid for myself. I cut out some of the down time and banter to make the video shorter and more (hopefully) watchable. And well if you clicked this... of course I bought it. The better half was not too pleased... subscribe and leave a like for her.

I have a negative angle of attack. Not as fast as a swinger as you (102-105). I went w a Tsr 2(10 degree raised to 10.75) w the stiff red counter balance hzrdus shaft. Great combo and helps get me to sub 3k back spin. The low and forward cg helps. Never been a titleist guy but the Tsr is special driver

You could probably stamp Titleist on a door knob and I would consider buying it, haha. I was surprised that he never tried the TSR2 head, he was probably trying to move weight more in the heel if I had to guess. Cheers!

I’m a new golfer (now hc 18), and I love Titleist from the beginning I started golf since about 1 year+ ago, everything my clubs and accesories (bag, irons, wedges, woods, hats, glove, shoes, pants, everything) are titleist..but somehow I just couldn’t get my optimum potential with the driver…tried from 915 series, tsi2, tsr2…they just didn’t go too well for me….I’m also struggling with the 915F wood 3 which I tend to slice it (from the tee)….hence for the driver I have to go with PING and Maruma which give much better result for me….

I'm not sure where my fandom of Titleist came from, but I'm with you. However, growing up we just couldn't afford it so I played with a lot of hand me down and used clubs. My first brand new club I ever got was an Odyssey White Hot #4 putter. I still have it and it is still just as good at missing 3 foot putts as in high school (I'm sure its totally the putters fault). Cheers!

I’m surprised the old man didn’t try raising your loft and changing the rear weight to get your spin closer down in the 2k rev range.

Yeah, overall maybe like a 3/5 experience. But I was going to buy one regardless… not the best personal approach but yolo. I’ve since changed the shaft and went to a higher loft setting.

WOW !!!! He really does come over the top. If he tried fixing the coming over the top he might get better results. I would love to do this.

Nice video. Play your cut player !! Works for a lot of good players! I wish the fitter would of been a bit more high energy and gave you more things to try. Couple swings with the 2 then the 3 then the 4 . Then try several different shafts .

Thanks dude! Yeah I think we all just want that TXG fitting experience. They really ruined it for us normies. Still just love the TSR3, I’m a Titleist fanboy. I’ll get that swing dailed (someday). Cheers!

At 25:46 on the video the Titliest club fitter mention something about the the hosel setting to help you with your swing. But cant make out what he said due to the guy emptying the balls out.

Hey Kenny, my initial hitting with the TSR3 the back weight was at H1 and the hosel A1 setting and I was tending to cut/fade the ball a bit so it was adjusted to H2 for the back weight and then B2 for the hosel, which put a bit more draw bias in the driver to hopefully counter act the spin I was getting. He was just explaining where we ended up on for my "fit". If you google "titleist fit chart" you can see how the hosel settings work. Cheers!

With adjustable hosels you can adjust loft OR face angle but not both. You get the loft you set it to if you set the club face square to your target (and who doesn't do that?). If you close the face at address you don't get any change in loft. Look up The Mobile Clubmaker's video on it. Or Tom Wishon's video

You ever thought about getting a pro coach and working on in to out? Feel like with your club speed you could easily hit 270+ carry if you could shallow the swing a bit

Hey, thanks for the comment. I did go for a couple lessons in the past year, but it just didn't gel between the practice drills and style I guess you could say (probably my own fault). But yeah, that is definitely something I still want to explore. Cheers!

@@GolfOnTap I’m just starting it up. I am way more over the top than you and about 10 mph slower. It’s super hard to reprogram your swing for sure, but every now and then I get one right and it flies!

I'm apprehensive to make this comment but since I know what the TSR costs & I already saw your unfortunate luck with your sim I'd feel like a jerk if I didn't. Now I'm not saying you were fit wrong but you definitely weren't fit properly. He tried the TSR4 to lower spin but it's designed for impeccable ball strikers. (Soon but not yet 😉) He didn't recognize your Hulk shaft is among the stiffest & was surprised when you said the Haz 6.5 was "whippy". He never tried the TSR2 which may have been the best fit & he gave up on the Ventus line after just the blue when you could be a black or possibly (unlikely) a red. Just a side note: the upcharge I believe is only $200 not $350 if you purchase a Ventus from Titleist. Anyways, I hope it I'm wrong (Usually am) & you love it. Every swing is different.

@@crishi7459 Dude I'm all for feedback and appreciate it. I had a gander at the TSR2 and I think the TSR3 did suit my eye better and the adjustable weight helps because I do tend to get it out on the toe quite a bit. So that was probably the biggest factor reducing my spin. There results were "better" with the haz black, but we all know fitter can manipulate the results a bit. That also why I put these types of videos out there so people can at least see what you pay for and hopefully they get value out of it. I am going to have the Hulk retipped to a Titleist adapter and see what it does with the TSR3 head, use the Radspeed head as a paper weight or something. Cheers!

The whole upward angle of attack is one of the worst pieces of advice, and it's everywhere on KZread. With 13 other clubs, your compressing the ball with downward angle and then all of sudden your supposed to suddenly have a driver swing that's 3° up? Sorry but that's gonna a ruin your game. Which is why the PGA is -1° attack angle. Just use loft as your friend, get a 10/11 degree driver and work with it.

  • @GolfOnTap

Thanks for the input. I’ve been thinking about going up in loft and just the cliché “just swing easy” don’t care about distance. Tee shots are still one of my biggest problems. Will probably mess with it this coming year.

  • @joey5picks

100% wrong. Tour players hit down slightly (or less up) for control since they already hit it far enough. To maximize driver distance you need an upward angle of attack. Check out what trackman says about angle of attack

  • @GRIFF22

    @GRIFF22

    Жыл бұрын

@joey5picks That's not what I said. True, an upward angle of attack is 'optimal', but the PGA tour average is -1°, which means that PGA tour players are generally hitting DOWN on there driver, hence why you're seeing way more drivers of 10,11 or even 12 degrees like Matt Fitzpatrick. And the reason why there doing it, is because for all other 13 clubs, they're hitting down, and then KZreadrs expect you to tee hit high, tilt your spine etc to get 4/5° up!!. Great, do it, it'll ruin your iron and Wedge game where you need to be over the ball with actually a slight weight bias towards your lead side.
