Micron Legend: Hot Rod vs Devastator (Round 2)

After his humiliating thrashing last episode, Hot Rod is haunted by images of Devastator, taunting him for his weakness and telling him no one will ever take his fat ass to prom. Okay, I might have made up that last part.
Thus, when another Micron signal is detected, Hot Rod is itching for a rematch. And neither he nor the just-as-eager Devastator is going to let anyone get in the way.
Realizing that his previous strategy of "keep swinging until it stops moving" isn't going to work, Hot Rod instead opts to use the terrain to his advantage, by slicing an under-construction highway in half (sorry, taxpayers!), thereby dropping Devastator into the canyon. Though he walks away unscathed (sorry, Sandstorm!), Devastator is nothing if not a sore loser, mocking Hot Rod for sucking before pimping away. And... presumably warping back to the moon right after. Why not just warp right away, ya ding-dong?
This sequence also shows some truly abysmal editing at around the 4:49 mark. Hot Rod sees the overpass, throws the Star Saber into the air... and then the next shot is him already driving on the highway. When there was no highway in sight in the previous shot. Huh??? How did he get there? And how did Devastator follow him? SCENE CONTINUITY, DAMMIT.
Quick Japanese lesson: The pronoun "ore-sama" (translated as "yours truly" by the subbers) is an extremely arrogant way to say the word, "I." Ore is already considered a very masculine and informal way to say "I," and adding a "sama" onto the end of that is basically the Japanese equivalent of calling yourself "The Great and Powerful Trixie." Team Skull leader Guzma also uses ore-sama in the game Pokemon: Sun & Moon, which was hilariously translated into English as "ya boy Guzma," which captures both the informality and the arrogance of the original word.

this is not a mistake. but just out of curiosity, in Japanese dubbing he is called "Devastor" (Devastator should sound like a languor tongues to the Japanese accent lol)

Yep. It is just to sound easier for Japanese kids, I guess. For the same reason, they keep Optimus’ name as Convoy, which comes from Diaclone toyline.

In the Japanese version of the show, he is called Hot Rod. For the English dub, Hasbro called him Hot Shot due to not having the copyright for the name of Hot Rod at the time. It's also why in a lot of the more recent depictions of the character, they refer to him as Rodimus instead of Hot Rod.

Also in the production or concept of armada he was named bumblebee and yes he was supposed to be like teenager version of bumblebee but Hasbro lost the treadmark name because bumblebee name wasn't available yet so he was named hot shot in America. But in Japan however hot rod that's was reusing the name of characters unrelated to original.
