Go fishing in an Oklahoma ozark stream using the smallest hook only to try and catch the smallest fish you can.

Just wonderful! Love this. My dad and I would drive backroads and fish for “minnows” and anything else that would take a tiny jig, fly, or sometimes bait. Can’t wait to do more of it although dad won’t be with me now. Thanks for the nice video.

I actually paused your vid to order "Peterson's", Lol. I can't get enough of micro-fishing. I used to get mocked for intentionally setting out after tiny fish. There's always been something magical about hiking to remote tiny streams with an ice fishing rod. 👍

Nice to know there are so many species in your neck of the woods. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and a location, most blogging micro anglers are tight lip about the locations and i dont know why, not like one can EAT these little beauties.....mostly just like you I "catch-photo-release" all fish not just the micros. BTW my smallest bluegill is 2.2cm long...lol.

I use a net, and didn't learn about micro fishing for a long time. The net seems to be easier to catch way more fish like top minnows and whatnot, but might invest into a micro rod if I come across something I can't catch. So far running through the shallow creek with a net seems to get everything and more.

Oh this is neat. I’m from Vinita OK and was just looking for some gear recommendation and this was the first video recommended. I guess I’ll be heading to spavinaw tomorrow now.

@Minty, the Bluehead Chub does not occur in Oklahoma. The only Nocomis in the Illinois Watershed is the Redspot Chub, Nocomis asper
