Awesome tutorial! This attention to details is perfect. The subtle movements look so minor, but make such a difference as demonstrated by your surfing. The hard part is to time it right and on the right section... good stuff to work on 👍
Great stuff. Love the combination of surf followed by skate tips to get the motion right. Speed mega important. Thanks
Awesome video Kale, thanks!
Thanks for the great content, it really helped me out.
That’s such a good tip - Really need to focus on that turn to max speed right at the start of the wave! 🌊
another great vid mate
Great video thx Kale!
This is something I have never thought about. This is a great nugget. 🤙🏽
This is great Kale. Thanks! :)
Nice vid Kale, I've only had my smoothstar for a month but already i feel my surfing and speed generation has improved. Still need to work on my speed generation on my backhand.

Hey great videos. My biggest struggle is understaing how to apply pressure and posture at various points on a wave. Perhaps an on land video (in the garage) showing these movements in snych with another shot of you surfing would really drive your point home. As you know the body's alignment along with pressure distribution is the magic in all of this and so I would really like to see more on this. I feel like Kelly on a surf skate but once I get my wave after a battle in the crowds I feel like I'm not maximizing my time in the water.
You have made me try out some of the things you say and its working really well, can you show how to take of on a steep wave?

I've always equated this to a tic tac on a skateboard..I was a skater first and then picked up surfing...prob is I don't do it much when I go backside. Now I realize why I'm so much better frontside.

I think I just realised I’m not doing it on my back hand either! Hence struggling to generation speed backhand
Hi Kale, I can’t seem to pump or tic tac as intuitively and easily on my backhand. Am I just over thinking it and technique is same as front hand? Front hand pump is automatic and easy for me so not sure why I’m struggling so much when backhand. Thanks.
Your insane at switch
Could you do a video on pig dogging and backhand tube riding. It's something I have struggled with for a while. Cheers For all the content mate, you've actually helped me heaps.

Herniated 3 discs in my neck 6 months ago. Had lots of pain and no surfing. Got 3 shots. Making a comeback after an injury is so hard but I did it. My balance is still a little off. A little like vertigo. Maybe a documentary on healing injuries. Like Kelly Slaters.
I’m looking forward to a 2021 SoCal surf camp with Kale! 👀

Well do you already have a video for air reverse? Cause I didn't see it. I can do a straight no reverse turn, but not a backhand or frontside air reverse, and can't do a backhand air. Can you help?

@@KalesBroccoli For sure! I thought as much.
You are mistaken to say tom Curren didn't do this and Slater was the one that perfected it; additionally Kelly got this from Tom!

I am strugling with how to choose the wright turns i go to far of the wave and get no momentum so i fall or i go of the wave

Having a hard time with snap and turns.
Only backside
I get the tips. But still a beginner or novice surfer will not be able to succeed in these tips . It takes years of learning and feeling good on your board. Balance timing , feet positioning ya, you can show and tell them how to do it , that may help but because of how long they have been surfing they won't be able to do this. We all know you get better the longer and more you surf . Riding different waves boards and so on. I don't mean to be negative but you learn as you go , learning on your own and figuring it out on your own is what I think is best for the surfer. Good day mate . Hope I'm not to negative for you. Just try and flow and stay at your own level and try to hard to be better . It comes naturally. Putting it on paper is fine but for people to adapt this in the water is a something entirely different.
What, decide which one are you... goofy or regular xD HAHAHA
