Micro Surfacing Overview

An overview of the Micro surfacing process in the province of New Brunswick by The Miller group under contract to The New Brunswick Department of transportation and Infrastructure.
Location: Rte#8, Fredericton, between Princess Margaret Bridge and Rte#10
Application: Two lifts, Scratch and Seal. The Minimum application rate of the 2 combined lifts is 14 Kg per square meter. 3.7 meters wide per lane.
Equipment
(3) Western Star trucks w/ Bergkamp M210 Mixers
(1) Etnyre, tack distributor
(1) Volvo, Model L70, 3 yd bucket

    First you lose the oil then the fines then the rock then you get holes then you lose the dirt work. Then you get to start all over. Or you could broom ,tack ,slurry, seal every few years and double or more the life of the initial hot mix depending on climate usage original work quality etc.

    What is called that part from material is discharging from truck? Is that made up of rubber ?

    The material dropped on the road is called a 'Slurry'. Its is a mixture of aggregate, water, emulsified asphalt and powered type 10 cement. No rubber in this mix

    Actually I'm asking about place from which slurry is discharging It is made of rubber or tyre material or what?

    @@IndianGamer-eu9cl - The slurry is mixed in a 'Pugmill" before discharge on the road in the towed screed.

    Yes it falls on a a piece of rubber. Its flexibility allows the operator to direct slurry to the left side and the right side easily.

    The worst company out there for road work.they should be embarrassed for the shit they do.when you have to go a road every other year that says something.to me shitty work and money in the bank for owners.and the government Dutt's back and allows it to happen.kick backs I think so
