Micro Supercharger for The RC Wankel Rotary Engine | Part 1 | The Housing

Ғылым және технология

►Subscribe! bit.ly/2m1d1y7
This is one of the projects that I've been wanting to make for years. Fortunately, now that I own a mini 5 axis milling machine I can finally attempt it. Last September I managed to mill the compressor wheel and I was really amazed. This is the part that scared me the most though. It's geometry is very intricate and the only way it can be done is with molding. In this part I'm making the supercharger's housing, which for me, was absolutely the most difficult piece for this build.

It's much, much harder to design very small turbomachinery. Everything needs to be way more accurate with way better tolerances than at a larger scale. I doubt it will work very well unless he's done CFD analysis on it to confirm the design. The smallest centrifugal compressors are more than double the size of this. There's nothing out there as small as this.
