MICRO CRANKBAIT SALMON, Ninja Fishing Clear Water

Low clear water has been the norm so far this fall on the south shore ontario tributaries. In these tough conditions, small profile crankbaits and stealth tactics can still get you reaction strikes from big lake-run fish. In this video, I fish a Salmo Floating Hornet 1 5/8" crankbait and manage to land a nice coho and brown out of skinny gin-clear water.

That first fish was absolutely a hen coho. Nice brown as well. It’s interesting how they chase those crank baits not sure if it’s feeding or out of territorial. Low water on all streams here on north shore Lake O as well, lake dropped down about 3 feet from where it was before. Nice to see you get into a couple fish. 👍

I think early on and with the salmon, it's mostly a reaction bite, they just kind of slurp it in. But I think after the browns are done spawning, they go on the feed because in the winter they really slam the crankbaits.
