Micro Bats - Australian Bats - Ep #2 - Envirotube

Envirotube. Australian Bats episode 2, presented by Jacob Sife. In this episode, Jacob visits Sarah Curran who, in this episode, introduces to an Australian micro bat, the Southern Freetail bat. You can see more on Sarah’s work on her Facebook page “Sarah’s Bats”. Sarah is with Sydney Wildlife. There will be wildlife rescue organisations outside of Sydney in your own locality. It’s good to do a quick search for them now rather than when you have an animal emergency on hand.

At least Aussy cares about bats. Thanks for caring everyone!
People love the flying foxes, but as someone who studies bats for a living, I see them almost as an entirely different kind of animal from microbats. I love the tiny little bats very much. They’re little flying gremlins who just want to help get rid of insects.
Very interesting video and educational
Hello from the 🇺🇸I follow Megabattie, Bat Buddies of Australia,,,,,,,,I love them💜🦇
Awesome. Thanks ❤️🦇
Great video. We're in the NSW rural area & have the flying foxes as well as the small guys (possibly microbats). The little fellas live under our house & tonight I went down to open a door to ensure they could come & go. Sure as I opened-up the small bat was hovering about & immediately took advantage of the open door. These are great little guys & can be seen whizzing around the patio at night, doing the rounds, ands suppose catching food.
They're so cute!!
Wonderfulllll
Also (from watching Megabat) if you do find a bat in netting instead of just cutting it out and letting it go you need to contact bat rescuer right away. Then we usually answer calls night and day.
