He sat in with my band in Vegas in 2005. We did Jane and he sounded unbelievable, he sounded just like the record. What a nice guy as well!

God Mickey, Love Among the Cannibals is by far my favorite Starship album as well ... incredible unappreciated back in the day and probably still today but what a collection of great music lies there

Its a pity that Love Among the Cannibals does not get the credit it deserves. Love this album. And have not got tired of hearing it even after 30 years or so. Hair metal was taking over at about the time it came out. And so the young rock fans went towards their own generation as they always do. It's just the way it goes.

I always thought "Mick & Slick" were more like "Sonny & Cher" than "Donny & Marie"! I thought they were a married couple singing together!

Interesting. He is wearing a Unicursal Hexagram. Could Micky be a Thelemite? Anyway I always liked his voice.

Always thought the Jeff. starship should have stuck to folk rock roots- kept on in the Bark/ long john silver mode.....at that point (1973) they had all the fame and money....why go commercial ?? (starship, etc) The last 15 years or so, they' ve gotten back to that, (thankx marty and paul) I like mickey, but those early J.Air. albums were so much richer and complex.

He left out the part where Donnie bald one beat him to a pulp requiring major facial surgery titanium plates and 60 stitches. That’s what ended the band in 1989.

They should have stayed with the Jane sound...

i disagree, mickey, (at 1;33)...Grace gave otherwise sappy tunes a nice "sinatra" or "joplin kind of edge...her insanity , alcoholism, and acid perspective gave it just the right twist....the whole greater than the sum...ro..uh somethin kllike that

I'm guessing that Jefferson Starship perhaps was losing album sales; he shouldn't have implied that Grace Slick had any negative impact since I believe the band's album sales would've continued declining with or without her. On the other hand, Grace was perhaps the reason their tours were so successful (and, I hear, even more profitable than album sales). I went to a few of their concerts, and Grace inevitably would ALWAYS steal the show; her personality and talent are a force of nature that Mickey, whose voice is great, just couldn't overcome.
