Say what you will about Cornette.. but he is not apparently easily intimidated. He comes from the old school where a heel manager could and frequently did go upside a fans head.

He used his racket a few times on fans jumping the barrier to get at him. Cornette is and has one of the greatest minds ever in wrestling. And one of the greatest managers.

My only issue with Cornette is that for serious, he buries HIMSELF sometimes. A lot of his points are exactly right even for today, but... kind of for the wrong reasons? Like he completely missed Mick's point on why there should be a separate women's show, because his type of style of wrestling is not done by a lot of women (exceptions clearly being Charlotte and Rhea) so he thinks there needs to be less of that on a card. But if he thinks women are too inexperienced with his concept of wrestling then why not give them more matches in front of people to learn how? Just as one example. I am TOTALLY on board with his complaint that wrestling works best when it feels like 'two people are fighting for real, just they're capable of doing some stuff your average bar brawler is not'.

That's debatable. Colonel Sanders first place to sell his chicken was his motel in Corbin Kentucky, which eventually transitioned into more of a restaurant than motel. Utah got the first KFC franchise location, but the location in Corbin still has a sign calling it the first KFC. My grandfather was from Corbin and always referred to it as the first KFC. He and all the Corbin residents took some pride in that.

Have you heard some of the confrontations Jim Cornette has been in over the years? He most definitely would have, no matter who was with him at the time; and if he thought/knew he couldn’t whip the guy in front of him, he’d find himself an equaliser to level up the playing field haha. Just about everyone that knows him, has said he wasn’t one to back down; his temper didn’t always have his best interests at heart haha. Having the Midnight Express around was obviously great backup for him; particularly when dealing with fans trying to get to him, either at ringside, or on the way back to the locker room.
