Syhraus at the end of awakening, we see Michael escape but never see a body In blood wars, Selene gets a memory where she sees Michael being drained and assumes he is dead, but no body still, so it’s always possible, but when he escaped in awakening he did survive, just not sure in blood wars

When I saw the first movie, I thought the revelation of how badly the Lycans were treated by the Vampires might mean, in future installments, the Lycans would be more developed. Raze was such a unique and interesting character from what little we saw of him, and I was so excited at the concept of a Vampire / Lycan / Hybrid power-trio taking on some sort of threat that was even greater. Man was I let down.

Depends on his power compared to the "Elders" anywhere or "Originals". As while HOLDING his own. Hes NEVER been shown to ACTUALLY be the one to beat him except William like it shows but only after takin quite a beating and just cuz William probably wasnt capable of thinking and using strategy and like the rest.

Michael was supposed to be more monstrous looking for the series, but they ran out of a budget for his design so they just painted him blue.

I was totally pissed that Michael's character virtually disappeared from the Underworld franchise movies after the first two. I thought it would have made an awesome storyline to have Michael, Selene and their daughter Eve as an immortal family of hybrids feared by both vampires and lycans.

If Michael had been in all the underworld films and seen the hybrid character grow even more powerful would of made the the series of films alot better.

After watching Rise of the Lycans I always assumed that Lucian turning Michael into a vampire and Lycan hybrid in the first Underworld was a way to replace his and Sonja's unborn child who along with Sonja herself had been killed by Viktor when he found out about the relationship between her and Lucian and her pregnancy with his excuse being that he considered a hybrid an abomination but probably was really only scared that said hybrid would overthrow him. Lucian probably considered using a hybrid like his child would have been to wipe out the vampires poetic justice.

Worth noting that Lucian's plan was to transform himself into the first hybrid in order to overcome Victor - Michael ended up with the job when Lucian was killed by Kraven, as Lucian's dying wish that a hybrid should exist to threaten the Vampire Elders.

His body is still intact though. If possible, I'm hoping that he can be revived in future installments.

It sucks Speedman didnt want to return to the franchise. He was my favorite character, I would have loved to see his development.

He did want to come. In fact last year. He was asked if he would come back. He said he would. But it's not up to him.

I agree with the frustration of how they discarded the character in later additions to the franchise. I suspect that's due to Scott Speedman not returning, but that's just guessing.

@@leenaleewitch3731 Yes, Selene was gifted Corvinus blood directly from the man who started it all. That literally made Selena powerful enough to kill an elder Vampire. So both mother and father were already mutants before she was conceived. Imagine the capabilities of the daughter!

Scott Speedman was actually in Underworld 1 and 2

They wasted a good character in awakening. He wasn't really in the movie

They did Michael dirty by killing him. Hopefully they can find someway to rewrite and reintroduce him in the next film or it will be a complete waste of a fan favorite.

The movies are usually pretty dark, with some make up maybe some light cgi it shouldn't be that hard to find another long hair white guy of similar build and face. Not to mention his hybrid form no one would be able to tell either way. It's honestly not an implausible choice. One I think they should take

I always thought that Micheal Corvin’s Hybrid form was totally Badass! The concept of being a combined hybrid of both Lycans and Vampires which gives him the strength and all of the powers of both creature species is absolutely amazing to me. My biggest complaint about the Underworld films is that we didn’t get to see more of Micheal in the following sequels. For me Micheal Corvin was the best part of The Underworld franchise and the fact that he didn’t become the second leading character behind Selina as the storyline progressed, was a criminal act by the successive film makers. There is no way in hell that Micheal should’ve died by the hands of a werewolf or Lycan. If he could defeat William, the patriarch of the Werewolf species, by tearing his head clean apart with his barehands, then he should’ve been able to defeat that werewolf with ease in full on combat. It’s painfully obvious that the film makers took the lazy path by killing off Micheal because Scott Speedman did not want to return and reprise his role in the following sequels. As much as I hate to say this, they really should have recast Micheal instead. To me I feel as though the character and the storyline would’ve been greatly improved if they had done that. Anyways, this has been a great video and I look forward to seeing the next one! Cheers!

I'm so pissed that Scott couldn't return as Michael he had great chemistry with Kate plus we never got to see Michael reach his full potential I wanted to see Selene teach him how to fight. I hated it that they killed him what was the point of turning him into a hybrid if we never get to see him grow as a character?

Underworld is such an awesome movie series. Although I felt the last one was average story wise.

I still can't believe they killed him off, when they barely even focused on him.

Underworld was so underrated by the press, it was handled with brilliant writing, great acting, special effects that didn't disappoint, and an awesome backstory! It made sense with every movie, and that's not something that hollywood does often!

I love these movies. My younger cousin and I use to pretend we were vampires and lycans when we were kids. We always play fought and had arguments on which creature was better. 😂 I said vampires. But now when I watch the find again, I see that the vampires were really not well represented in the franchise. They were portrayed as weak. The only exception being Selene, who was bad ass of course. The lycans tore the vampires apart in every battle. In the later films, the addition of the vampire clan in the mountains was cool, and I liked their powers. Idk, I just wish they would have given the average vampires a better fighting chance against the average Lycan. We barely got to see any powers from the vampires other than Selene and victor. They mostly just used guns and sometimes I forgot they were even vampires at all, because they never seemed to move or fight in any vampiric way. All in all a great franchise. Not perfect but still really cool and enjoyable. Kate’s an amazing actress

I totally agree with you. I love the underworld franchise but now looking back The vampires are hella weak! I’m like “cmon! You are freakin vampires 🧛🏻‍♀️! Mess those werewolves up! And made them even more weak because they had to use lycans to guard them from the werewolves.....!” Which I get they are mindless creatures but your a vampire! How are you scared?! Anyways...even the twilight vampires can fight or stand a chance against werewolves. they don’t use weapons they do hand to hand combat.

I loved the first 2 movies, Rise of the Lycans was good, and the last 2 were alright. But the whole lore and potential of Hybrids were greatly squandered. We are told that Viktor feared the union of the species, even went to extreme measures to keep the bloodlines "pure", even Selene hinted that Micheal the first of his kind had so much potential but we never got to see it. That is my greatest disappointment with the Underworld series.

He could. They drained his blood, so his body went into a hybernation i guess. They need to wake him up, using alot of blood just like Viktor and he'll be like new !!

It was mentioned that Marcus was a hybrid as well, I think it is due to him being bit first by the werewolf that his brother saved him from, but since he wasn’t as injured as William was, he didn’t turn. Just a guess, would like to know more about if Marcus truly was a hybrid.

I think you did an excellent job of highlighting Michaels inexperience as a fighter in his shortcomings against Viktor and Marcus. I absolutely agree that he was heavily underutilized in evolution and going forward. Maybe giving him a more prominent role would have been enough for Scott Speedman to reprise his role. Who knows but they really did the franchise a disservice on keeping Kate Beckinsale as the main main character in the franchise

While Michael was a cool character, I wonder how powerful Lucian would've become if he turned into a hybrid considering he was the first and most powerful Lycan at the time.

I think they should've made more out of Michael Corvin in the latter films, the last one having him killed off (supposing he remains dead) was wasting his character and the role he could've potentially played in resolving the Vampire-Lycan feud.

Likely, yes. He was reawakened by the blood of a lycan. This is most likely what gave him the ability to assume his bat-like form, a trait no other vampires seem to possess (if Marcus had had this ability from the beginning, it might be expected that other vampires should have it, too, because, in parallel, all werewolves and lycans share the ability to assume a monstrous form with WIlliam).

@@bendo9162 , that's why markus is unique, cause after ingesting the lycan scientist's blood, he got upgraded, and got a batform. The other vampires doesn't have that ability because their system isn't as potent as markus's, since he was the first vampire, and then becoming a hybrid.

I still dont get something...Lucian wanted to turn himself into a hybrid and needed Amelia's blood because she was an eleder vampire. Marcus was an elder vampire (was a son of Alexander also) and with the blood of a simple lycan (the scientist) turned into a hybrid. Michael had Alexanders genes the lycan virus and the vampire virus from selene which was given to her by Viktor (another elder) so in order to become a lycan vampire hybrid or a vampire lycan hybrid you need alexander's gene lycan virus and a vampire's virus by an elder vampire ? What do you think?
