Michael Pollan and Tim Ferriss | SXSW 2019

Ойын-сауық

A renaissance is underway in the scientific study of psychedelics, both as a mode of therapy for mental illness and as a tool for understanding the mind. Tim Ferriss takes up these issues and more in a conversation with Michael Pollan, the author of How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics teaches us about Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression and Transcendence.

Life has a magically, synchronistic way of bringing you what you need, when you need it. The law of attraction. I now work as that 'underground healer that Pollan mentioned and can't tell you how incredibly gratifying to have someone call me to thank me once again for the help I have provided them. It'll be nice when laws change and my practice can come out of the closet to help more people who are suffering so horribly. This medicine is to be approached with reverence, genuine humility, and an open mind. Educate yourselves first and be open to heal. The rest sorts itself out. Always. Mush love to all you out there! The universe loves you, even if sometimes things look hopeless.

Thank you Tim and Michael and everyone making this talk happen! This is ground-breaking and now that the news are spreading it is only a matter of time before it becomes integrated into the therapies. It is up to us to make sure it happens as fast as possible, people need to break free from their addictive/mental sufferings! I am in my last semester of medical school and will definitely dig more into this topic as it seems it can change humanity for the better

We would live in a better world, if we had legal therapy with psychedelics. More tools like this will make our planet *more peaceful and prosperous.*

The point is made that if you only needed one session to get the equivalent of 20 years of therapy, therapists would lose. But if you only needed to pay for one session, or only one session per year, everyone in the country could afford it and therapists would have an endless supply of appointments. And the world would be a vastly better and happier place!

If therapists could help a patient with fewer visits, they would have more job satisfaction, less burn out, and more referrals from clients.

@@mylittlekittens MAPS is suss as f, they were using steve bannon to promote them, notice how some are really flogging therapy centres. The normal human doesnt need a therapy centre, its far safer at home. The therapies are being sold to treat soldiers, get them back to war and the military and mining industry are buying up therapy centres and stamets, weil and louie wont talk about it. Trust the mushrooms and uncorrupted indigenous people, the rest are very sus and self serving.

A group of two - there are other situations where a male/female therapist team can be really helpful to clients. I'm a retired therapist and worked in a couple of group programs in each of which a woman and I were cofacilitators - it gave clients more chance of having one or the other of they could feel comfortable with, and one or the other of us they could relate to in other ways.
