Michael forgot to mention that he had one of the bullets which had Lemmy's ash in it. Not that many people got that. Only for closest friends. Love your interviews. Cheers from Finland, Petri

You're spoiling us with all this awesome Hanoi content. Thank you so much. If you get a chance could ask about Ginger Wildheart? I'm of the opinion that Sensory Overdrive is easily Michael's best solo album. Ginger was a huge part of that. Those two writing together was pure magic. I have no doubt they could write another kick ass rock n' roll album.

I agree, but as a long time fan, Horns and Halos just backed off from the Ginger influence (which was so overpowering) a bit and allowed MM to shine through. Definitely, a great cd though!

This was awesome!! My name is Ralph and I’m 44 years old and a rock ‘n’ roll junkie since I was 14 and icing and Burnes will not right now but there’s only so much a mistake to Michael Monroe and association with say a list popular Rockstars and I love guns and roses so much and Mötley Crüe which led me to discover and white rocks in the late 90s and as I got older I get more into them but this is the quintessential Michael Monroe interview who’s one of the most amazing looking front man of all time and I’m at the Valley heterosexual man. He’s such a different kind of rockstar his personality wise he is in your face glamorous but yet humble and as I want to take credit. he’s like a punk rocker almost like a grunge guy and that kind of humble way in a quintessential glam rocker singer body and aesthetic. There was so much I wanted to know about Michael Monroe. And this was the quintessential interview. Thank you for posting this is very entertaining and interesting.

But at least I am so happy that we have this great musician Michael who still sings like no one in the world, keeping this up❤ I also bought the new album on an Lp... When I tell you it is the only thing playing here at home... I mean it!❤ Michael seems like such a person really, he really seems nice and genuine and honest. This interview also was just great! I also keep adding more to this comment haha but I am also just 15 and discovered Hanoi Rocks through anothet band a few years ago and I just can not get enough of that band haha🙏🙏

Perkele Mike Monroe Suomesta🇫🇮 My home town 900 years old port city by the sea called Turku is the place where Michael has lived over 10 years now and I see him every now and then walking or riding hes cool bicycle without A helmet on👍 I dont either use helmet when riding bike... But Ive ride bike Like 30 years so Ill survive without it. But MM is In my top 3 frontmans of rnroll and A great man Who never changes or lets loose of his principles etc. Most underratted rocker Id say but the underground and rockers all over the globe knows him so I think its ok if las vegas or Hollywood dont know him.

I feel you when you mention the Ramones, Jason... you only have a finite amount of time with your musical heroes and it hurts when they're all still alive and performing yet can't settle differences enough to make magic on stage for the fans again. I love all the members of the Runaways to death, but hate that they couldn't reunite while Sandy West was still alive. And I'm with you, the Ramones are my favorite American band, as well. Joey's buried 2 miles away from my parent's house in NJ, I always stop and pay respects.

Again, a great interview Jason. I hope you can get the Gyp Casino interview. It's sad that even if the original Hanoi Rocks reunite we'll probably never get to see them here in the states. IMO for a US tour to happen they would need to tour with a major act that would let Hanoi play a full set. I suppose there's always a live stream possibility.

For me personally ,Rock nRoll or in fact any other sub genre of music is about integrity, guts and not following a crowd, the Hanoi lads did it , Shark Island and countless others. I’ve learnt a lot (unfortunately) about some of my teenage favourites like Crue and So on over the last year watching this podcast . I can’t believe I didn’t see how fake a lot of those bands were . Hindsight eh? Hanoi can hold their heads up high and be proud of the legacy they helped create xx love ya Micheal 🙏🙏🙏

The connection Hanoi Rocks - Guns N Roses is a very known fact for people Who grew Up in the eighties. Hanoi and Michael were also an influence (and Friends) with so many more big acts from the eighties like Bon Jovi. In fact Michael and Jon Bon Jovi were good Friends. Michael even visited him on set while Jon was filming the U -571 movie along with Harvey Keitel. And for a while Jon also cited Hanoi Rocks as one of his favorite rock bands.

I've never liked Jerusalem Slim. It's the only MM album I didn't even care to buy back in the day. But I was lucky enough to get a copy of the demo album, J.S. The Demos, which Michael sold privately (I believe) some 20-25 years ago. It is just brilliant and sounds nothing like the final product. It's more like Not Fakin' It meets Demolition 23. It has great sounds and could've been released as such as the final JS version. You can find it, or at least pics of it, by googling MM J.S. the Demos. My copy is not for sale. 😛

It's a well documented story. While they were recording in London, Gyp was starting to have mental health issues and kind of drifted away from the rest of the band. Also his relationship with McCoy went really sour, resulting in an onstage fist fight. At the same time Razzle was hell bent on joining the band, so... the rest is history
