To get third at this weight this year is an accomplishment. McGhee is really tough.

He’s been tough. He’s a 3x or 4x AA, I expected him to get top 4 . Pretty sure homie placed within the top 5 consistently 😭 and I know that sucked. Now he 3rd that’s valid.

@xzjayz7925 I remember when he pinned Louie Hayes when McGhee was a sophomore. This was in the 2015 IHSA state finals. I honestly think he would've given Vito a better match than RBY if he made the finals.

Daton very boring to watch super defensive. That style can only take you so far that's why vito tuned him up

Absolutely. Total respect. But when you get to the cream of the crop at the very top, he wrestles defensive . Going to stand by what I said. Look at his last 2 finals against RBY. And look at what Vito did to both of them. A great offense always wins look at david taylor

I respect Daton Fix. He is right there in the mix for the best Folkstyle wrestler in the world every year. On top of this he is a world Silver Medalist in Freestyle. He did this during his college career. Who else has done something like that? so few

I think if Fix took more shots he would be even more of a problem for guys. Idk what it is, if he is just in his own head. He lets them shots go more, and just getting into those scramble situations i think he does better than i think he even realizes. McGee though is so fast, and also great in scrambles...Great match. O man, thats a tough call on that reversal. However i think Fix got it..I think the refs didnt call it because McGee's leg was still holding a neutral position, but i think it was a reversal. You have to assume if they kept wrestling what that position would be. Which i dont think there was anyway around Fix not getting the reversal. Great match though, and McGee is a beast, and earned it. Def not taking that away from him. Dude is really really good.

No one, especially a 3x NCAA champ, 3x State Champ, and a 3x big 10 champ. Homie has not won 4 of anything? Not that you can relate to even competing in NCAAs but try using your brain and grasping the level of what he just lost. “sPenCer LeE mEat rIdEr” people get call that so often for defending someone’s character from childish ass adults talking about “respecting” a 3x NCAA champ and still one of the best to ever do it 🤦🏽‍♂️. Like come on now, common sense takes you a long way. I’ll ride for RBY though, I really wanted brother to get his 3rd title but Vito wanted it more and he got it, well deserved from him, would be lying if I said I wasn’t tilted. It’s a game, a match, lay off.

Completely neutral on both of these teams and wrestlers but that was 100% a standing reversal. These refs are literally getting worse year in and year out, I would like to know their wrestling backgrounds. There a few that make consistently correct calls but 90% of them just need to go do something else.

I’ve said this so many times and I will keep saying it college wrestling to me has become so disappointing, I don’t know how we can compete with other countries unless there taking it easy on there wrestlers too? Too many college teams do not compete against each other and it is extremely frustrating for us fans and I would think as a wrestler who only wrestles his opponent the very first time at the ncaa championship, how in the world are there not more tougher tournaments throughout the year where these guys compete with each other, how in the world is arajuo wrestle rby the very first time in the championship and fix hasn’t wrestled rby or araujo or mcgee throughout the year, this is a joke, how in the world are you supposed to know how to beat your competition if your not seeing or wrestling your competition??? I mention this because I love watching fix but the whole match he’s feeling out mcgee why because he’s never wrestled him and us fans have to see a sorry match where there are no shots and no action, that’s how you lose your last match of your college career is on a technicality and not 1 successful takedown absolutely pitiful! Who cares if the patriots went undefeated throughout the year the last game the superbowl is all that matters and I think too many coaches are worried about there wrestlers record than competition

Yea I agree the days of most guys entering the tourney with 25-30+ matches are over unfortunately but that also has to do with some coaches bury their guys into the ground well before the big tourney look at iowa there guys are so beat up by march it makes no sense even the ones who don’t restle at lot during the season
