I think he's actually a little hostile. When you see the scene where Batman LITERALLY slams Joker on the table, which would've broke his back, you'll come up with that conclusion too, trust me.

Conroy is just the voice. Conroy isn't really batman. Adam West is a bigger batman in that regard.

Batman Returns was barely a Batman movie. Its a fine movie but its not the best Batman movie for sure. I remember large stretches in the film where neither Bruce not Batman shows up. That was more Penguin The Movie.
