Pearce was a great character and perfectly complimented a great cast, which of course is down to Michael’s superb acting. Glad to see he’s well. 👍

These are great interviews! I was late to the party, discovering this show, being from the US. I was really impressed with it as a fire chief. They seemed to try to take viewers into the burning buildings and into the situations, and they didn't do a bad job at all cinematically!

Seems odd to hear Michael talk in his natural London accent, instead of the West Country accent he used on the show. I never really liked Pearce's character much even in his better days, but Michael Garner played the part really well.

Would be good to have a short episode where Geoff and Vernon meet in the ship aground again and somehow end up on a ridealong which ends up on a shout with a current day blue watch and they see whilst in Blackwall (now rebuilt and renamed Dockhead) memorials to hallam, sicknote and zorba. (Maybe have a cameo somehow from any surviving actors somehow without it being corny) I did write a short bit of it where they meet in the ship aground and Colin has decided to go part time in the forces offices and help his Uncle out whilst he's got ill health

@@sebastianbliek yeah that's what I was saying. They'd meet up retired as good friends at the ship aground and cop a tour of the now named dockhead station and end up going for a ride out which turns into them watching a shout take place. They'd also visit the memorials of the cast who died in the show (sicknote for example)

I liked the Show very much , I used to watch it in spring 2005 ,year of the broadcast in France and I watched the only three last Seasons which were Best according to me.Pearce had a cold personality as he was chief intendant and was never going to go for a drink with others, but going home and stay with his wife Fiona. But I should see his earlier years .

Great interview, great to see Michael, but please include your voice on future recordings, so there’s no awkward pauses or drops in sound. Flows better when the host or interviewer is present. Would’ve been even better if he’d been asked about the petrol station shout and memories of each cast member. Maybe that could be the basis for a follow-up sometime. Love to see everybody else...35th anniversary is in 5 weeks time. 👍

I remember Michael and the rest of the cast from standbys at Leyton on the Greens. We always seem to have plenty food knocking about on filming days. Some of the watches were filmed too at change of watch. Wonder if they got paid as extras?!
