There will never be another Michael Brecker.
Oh man, Brecker and McLaughlin firing on all cylinders, it doesnt get any better than this. John really ignitet already fentastic gig into higher spheres. Very interesting and colourful lineup
Michael Brecker came on to the scene as a great talent, yet he continued to improve and expand year after year. My Goodness... John and Michael together... vibrating at a very very high level.
We miss you Michael. The world is a poorer place without you.

Jim Mortenson I’d say the world is a much richer place for his past presence and persisting influence on musicians today and always.
I was there 22 years ago at the opéra Garnier in Monaco. Great moment
Wicked jazz!! And Johns presence certainly lights the fire even more!!
I find that any group with Joey Calderazzo sounds different and inviting. My ears perk up with excitement. The guy is a monster.
The fire still burns in our hearts and souls for the spectacular, powerful always expressive Michael Brecker. For as long as recorded music exist Michael will be remembered for his contribution to Jazz, (music in general) Mike belongs on the all time greatest list's along side Bird, Coltrane,Benny Golson, Shorter, Johnny Griffin, Sonny Rollins,Bob Berg,Stan Gets and Joe Henderson to name a few...

and Bill Evans(ts.ss)is a soloist that should not be forgotten.
Unexpected combination of players. They sound great together. Great to hear Michael as usual and John sounds great in this slightly different (for him) context. Tain is lighting a fire under these guys.
Michael was a master! A rare spirit indeed!
Not only is the playing incredible, the live recording quality is superb! Thank you a thousand times for posting this.
Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for publishing this, amazing !
Letal!!!! Gracias!!!!!
EVERYONE'S going this year (2017)! Soon we'll ALL BE THERE!

Oh man....I thought I was going crazy thinking there are two John McLaughlins since I didn’t hear a guitar at the beginning. Thanks for the time stamp.
Even though there will never be another Michael Brecker, a few players are emerging such as Bob Reynolds who will carry the torch forward.
Wow, this band is killing.
Awesome :)
That is my fav JM guitar tone here. Probably he is playing one of his Gibson guitars.
Awesome
Anyone else agree that John McLaughlin pushed the other cats to another level?

I think the other cats are on an incomparable level already, but McLaughlin sure blends in well !

Kinda a bummer to find out he just did harmony to melody and barely comped.
😃💙🍀
was this ever released as cd or vinyl?
Seems like on 'Song For Bilbao', on Joey's 4thchorus, they bagged the bridge @ 1:11:26
Brecker sounds like the mighty Don Menza to me - a technical marvel, and an edgy hard-bopper - he pulls though from Benny Golson and Jug to open Round Midnight - awesome really and I confess I was not hip to Brecker's authority in this mode

I LOVE Menza (Mighty Menza!), and I agree that Brecker has some enjoyable similarities, which I had not appreciated before you mentioned it.
Thnaks for posting this. I'd like to know who are the other players: piano, bass, drums... And I didn't hear MacLaughlin.

Sounds like you stopped listening on second or third track. Listen starting 43:36, John joins in there. If you check the 'Show More' info bar, you'll see all the personnel listed.
45:22 Bet you didn't know John McLaughlin was from Wisconsin! ;-)
Song for bilbao was written by Pat Metheny or Michael Brecker?
I don't think McLaughlin is on Song for Bilbao...
The entire concert is a little different ;-)
