Lots of things like to chew on these baits, not just mice and rats. Snails, slugs, ants, voles, chipmunks, I've even seen daddy long-legs chew on them before. Snails and slugs are greedy, any you can lose an entire box of bait to them before the mice find it. Or a fat rat decides his gonna stay there an eat it all. Which is why you check droppings, and check your bait boxes.
@matthewk6731 Жыл бұрын
Never poison animals. 1. Because other predators that feed on them also get poisoned. 2. They may crawl inside a wall, die, and the smell is horrendous.
@MrGerritv
11 ай бұрын
Not completely true. Second hand poisoning really depends on the product being used and how much can even be passed along. For example, cholecalciferol is a very effective rodenticide but does not pass along to a predator that may eat it. On the note of them dying in the wall, although it’s possible, it doesn’t happen very often at all.
@kerrihiggins2106

An adult animal would be ok, but if their young eat it, it can be fatal. It happened to some eagles on Southwest eagle cam awhile back... one of the babies died and they thankfully were able to save the other after intervening. We've used these before and have had mice die in our walls a few times down in the basement. For a few days to a week it smells absolutely horrid 🤢

If any PCO or WCO uses Ditrac without putting into a bait station they are in violation of the law, and in my experience you will almost never find a loose Ditrac block. I worked at a warehouse that used this for years. It was awful. Mice could breed faster then they would die. Blue mouse shit everywhere so probably fucked up my lungs. Dead mice everywhere, sometimes you’d find fresh bodies, sometimes skeletons cause they crawled in somewhere and rotted there for years. Worst part was finding them in the final moments, not a quick death at all. Also your poisoning whatever eats the mice.

Bro really said “It shows us of the mice eat the bait and it also shows us the bait is working against the mice”
My cat ate a poisened mouse from the neighbors house. At least thats what we think happened. The veins in her body and organs dissolved and she died of internal bleeding. It was dreadful.
So the objective is not to kill off the mice but just to see if they're eating your fancy little blue block there?

This is so stupid and wrong on so many levels if they're pooping it out then they've already built up a tolerance to it and it's not working anymore The whole point of this poison is to make them feel like they're dehydrated so they don't hide in some Dark Spot somewhere and they die outside looking for water

Looks like monitoring (not normally lethal) bait. Usually used to determine if a home is having rodent activity. If a lot of bait is consumed and droppings are found, it’s a good indicator to switch to a rodenticide bait.

Never poison animals. 1. Because other predators that feed on them also get poisoned. 2. They may crawl inside a wall, die, and the smell is horrendous.
@MrGerritv

If your dog or child gets sick/dies and you can prove it wasn't applied properly you can sue and the applicator could even go to jail/prison. Even the scummiest companies know how to avoid losing their business completely. You are scaring people about a highly unlikely situation and I think you are being unhelpful.

So... When I took my class on poison control for my retail storage place that will not go named... They informed us that this stuff is basically Aspirin and forces the Rats organs to bleed on the inside. I asked "is this painful to the mouse or rat?" The guy started laughing and said: "It's Aspirin, he probably felt really good when it stopped his heart." So, I stopped eating Aspirin that day.
A good indicator to see if the mice are eating your bait/poison would just be a dead mouse 😂 I wouldn’t be interested to know if they we’re eating it and a long term death plan

Negative, just means they ate in recently and a good bit of it. Which also means there's not a whole lot for them to eat other than the bait. Takes about 3 to 4 days before it kills them.
Did I just heard same sentence repeating many times in different ways😂
That bait is called contract and it is a good bait.. it's better to use this bait in the spring being it is a high sugar bait but they also make a peanut butter based bait that's better for winter time.
Mouse bait is just a blood thinner and flavoring (generally peanut butter) to attract them. They end up bleeding out from eyes ears ect.

Only if it’s a anti-coagulant rodenticide. And they don’t die from bleeding out of their eyes, they die from internal bleeding which leads to blood loss, loss of consciousness, and then death.
I usually wait to hear the thud from them dropping it to know they took the bait
I hope you're not poisoning the mice and they have access to the outside. If a hawk / owl eats those mice the birds are likely to get sick and die.
I use the same exact thing, works wonderfully well
To elaborate, those chemical blocks dehydrate the rats and their stomachs eat themselves
Honey, you are the most gorgeous of all of God’s creations 😍
I'm not even gonna lie, one time when I was like 5 I got into the kitchen sink cabinet and found some of that stuff and scarfed that shit down. My mother did not have a good day that day
I worked at a warehouse that used this for years.
I hate those contrak blocks. We had these really dark blue ones that were star shaped. I believe ours was water activated because a customer left dog bowl outside filled with water and there were 3 dead mice around the bowl.
I usually just rely on seeing dead mice when I put bait out. Then I got a cat for fair chase…
Mouse physiology! Love it!
It’s called lumitrack. It lights up with a UV light
I would go through buckets of contrac weekly. Sometimes daily. They would never touch the final or first strike.
Yeah but then they die in the walls and create another issue. I prefer to use glue traps or snap traps.

Fruit loops and fruity pebbles make rainbow poop as well.
Wouldn’t the little bites out of the bait block be the first sign that they were eating the poison?
The real reason is because it perfectly matches his gorgeous eyes.
That's crazy just set these traps with that bait
Where do you buy it at?
If the mice are digesting the poison bait and pooping the green dye vs just Dying 💀, I’d say you need a new poison bait.

"I hate meeses to pieces!"
We've had these kind of baits around our house for a little over a year now and are changing to something else cause every single time they change those blocks, they are eaten to nubs! We also get A LOT of birds of prey in our area that are quite active around our house (an owl caught a squirrel and thought our roof was a great place to land while killing it and I've had *presents* left in my garden, no, not poop, dead animals 🤢) and I'm worried they will snag a critter that has eaten the poision and get sick or die from eating it... these just dont work very well 😩
I def need that I be hearin em late at night and it annoyin af
I've seen a mouse die from poison baits. It's horrific. Hard to get out of your head.
Don’t use bait. Mice are eaten by larger predators like Eagles and Hawks who die from ingesting the Warfarin in the bait eaten by the mice. If you must kill mice use old fashioned snap traps. They are much more humane and the dying ends with the original target
If that dont work out you can prolly do a couple fast and furious movies
Can you use this if you have dogs and cats
Some folks can tell by the bite marks on the bait
What they don't tell you is when the rats die from the poison, the owls come in and eat the rat and then, yup you guessed it! The owl dies!!! What a way to solve problems right!!
@Alldayumay
Жыл бұрын
Not if it has a stop feed in it. The mouse or even rat will get full after a couple bites and it will be just enough to kill the rodent without making the body toxic.
Exactly Then you can track movement of the mice
