It’s seeing how quick he is & how fast he can change direction. Jamar ran a 3.99 short shuttle at the draft which is elite, anything under 4.00 is elite. It was on full display on that TD vs the chiefs when he juked the defender then quickly changed direction, planted his feet & accelerated for the TD

This is a test ALL players run. It determines how agile a player is & yes, receivers need to run side to side. It's how they break cover to get separation.

Honestly they only way I can describe it. When I was younger I was fast..just born fast idk. Then when I got older n did powerlifting for fb. I gained weight n got faster with power lifting. Point being his legs are strong or stronger than theirs n he can move move.

Ok. I’m not saying that Micah isn’t fast because that man can fucking move. However, if you have played football at even the high school level you will understand that an OLB/DE like Micah is one of the fastest laterally moving positions on the field. Behind those positions is running backs since they have to be shifty. So with that in mind the fact that Micah best both of the skill players in a lateral movement drill is not surprising. Also the fact that deuce also beats Jamar furthers the point since a WR doesn’t have a need to harp on lateral movement as much as the other two players. All three of them are still lightning fast tho.

The difference is you can see and hear the amount of effort parsons is putting in compared to chase

Yeah... cuz this drill favors power over speed... he can't reach the same top speed as them cuz his training and position favor more type 2 fibers then intermediate or type 1. Exercise science and physiology are important.

Parsons ran a 4.3 coming out of college. There might be a handful of players that are faster than Micah. Plus Parsons has both of them in the video beat by 40lbs or more. Its much easier for a receiver to do those kind of drills.

Receivers and RB's stop on a dime and run in a completely different way all the time. They run routes full speed and stop which is what they are doing here. That would include against the Cowgirls. As to what Parsons did to the left side of the field I don't know, but he didn't get shit off the right side.
