He is so versatile. I have been telling my wife that speed is what changed the Cowboys defense(She is a Washington fan.) He NEVER gives up on a play. Diggs is also quick to the ball usually. When you see Micah downfield covering a WR, you know you have something special. I had a kid on my baseball team that I managed...he was fast, had power, and a hell of an arm. I would throw the other team by batting him clean-up one game and then leadoff the next just to throw teams off. The other managers would be like "move in, not a heavy hitter." I just grinned as he touched them all after hitting a homerun(which he did a lot.) He was the smallest kid on my team, but not to be underestimated. He recorded numerous double plays. I just simply told the coaches on the other team "I told you to watch out for #7."

What’s scary that no one mentions is he was not 100% healthy all season. He kept having lingering issues. And he still kept playing with a high motor. A man amongst men

He might not win DPOY bc it seems to be a sack driven award but this guy is definitely the most complete defender in the league. And at his age he’s bound to win the award multiple times

Agreed. Just have to keep him fresh down the stretch. He was DPOY through the first 11 games of the season….then he fell off a cliff. 1 sack over the past 6 games isn’t good enough. He did not deserve to win the award last year even tho imo, he’s the best d player in the league. It’s also telling that he’s got no one opposite him that gets to the QB. D law hasn’t had more than 5 or 6 sacks since he got paid. Our DTs do nothing in this regard. Sam Williams needs to emerge being a high draft pick

It's a sack driven award until D. Ware leads the league in sacks with 20 and they give it to J. Harrison with only 16 sacks. Harrison got it because it was a better story for the NFL to sell. J. Harrison was cut 3 times by the Steelers and then he gets the DPOY award. Ware was the better player.

You all forgot him throwing 330 lb lineman in the SF game.

As a SF fan, the way he threw Mike McGlinchey in the NFC Divisional Round was hilarious.

Yall forget parsons got his stats from playing half the downs rushing the QB than all his contenders did. Parsons should win it based on just that. Half the time and dang near the same stat sheet

@@themostsavage5012 bosa was the most dominant defensive player on the best defensive team and also had 18.5 sacks he will be the defensive player of the year no doubt. I think Micah Parson is a monster but I don’t think this season was his defensive player of the year.

@@mosescarter5980 bosa will probably win it since the dpoy is a sack driven award but parsons is the better defensive player imo. He’s much more complete defensively and much more talented. Bosa only has better pass rushing stats bc he’s a full time pass rusher. Parsons literally is superior in everything else. Defends the run at a higher level, has more pass Deflections, can cover TEs and slot receivers, is an Elite pass rusher like bosa, he has more tackles more forced fumbles more fumble recoveries a defensive TD etc. he just hustles way more than bosa. Parsons makes tackles 30 yds down the field when bosa gives up on plays if the ball carrier is on the other side or run past him. Like I said bosa will probably win it since sacks are the highlighted stat to win the award but I’d take parsons to join my bengals if it was an option any day. The fumble recovery and TD return V the bears embodies the kind of player he is. He blew up the pass play with his pass rush, made fields scramble after the fumble you see parsons hustle 20 yds down the field to recover the fumble and beat every DB to the ball and on top of that returned it for a TD. Bosa just doesn’t have that kind of athleticism or talent nor does he hustle like that.

@@topdawg182 Parsons pass rushes on more than 90% of his snaps. Him playing linebacker for more than any significant amount of time is a myth. His numbers would not be better than Bosas if he rushed as much as him

Defensive Player of the Year 2023-2024

His power is insane. He's able to push 325 plus pounders with one arm and just dismantle them like i would a 150 pound guy. He's the closet thing to Lawrence Taylor I've seen. By the end of his career he might be better , different time but i can't think of anyone at that position that's able to do as much. Obviously luke , clay matthews and so on but just pure force him and LT would be top teir.

He's not even in his peak. A couple seasons and he's going to dominate.

All he needs is a ring a dpoty and some more consistent year and that’s a hof player either way he’s already a cowboys legend

Micah is that older brother that plays backyard football with his little brother & his little brothers friends

It’s so crazy because he was supposed to be a 4/3 LB and he is just a pure edge rusher

The defense was playing like this opening day...Imagine if the offense generated some type of rhythm. I remember being there live.

I wish I knew how to compile stuff like this but I’m an old, old, Boomer, so I’m lost with anything but an 8-Track. But if I could, I’d do a compilation of the Cowboys season, which was pretty damn good. For the 1st time since Jimmy’s departure, I feel like this team is headed in the right direction. We Draft pretty well but even so, unless you get super lucky, e.g., getting Micah at #9, you’re not really going to impact your team just thru the Draft. But I believe Stephen & Jerry are going to be active in FA much earlier than in year’s past. I’m not saying they be signing the top-tier talent but I do believe they might sign one very good player from the following categories: CB, DT, LB, WR, RB, OG. Then they’ll do what they used to do BEFORE last season and they’ll make sure they have good depth and hopefully, great Starters at each position. I dream about having a stud DT like Chris Jones, Vita Vea or Quinnen Williams on our Squad. I used to dream about how a good S would make the team so much better and it has! But the biggest impact you can have on ANY Quarterback is with Rush UP THE MIDDLE. Even Brady or Rodgers’s can’t overcome that. So I always dream about finding a stud in the Draft (thru either great scouting, dumb luck or a bit of both) or signing an established on in FA. Maybe this will be the year. I do know if we had a running game and a great Defensive Tackle, we would have been in the NFC Chip this past season.
