Miata Timing Belt Rattle Diagnosis and Repair
Weird rattle clunking sound coming from under the timing covers, in the video we explain exactly what's going on, show a sound clip of the noise and how to fix it. We also discuss if it's a serious or dangerous issue as well. This issue is specific to NA and NB Miatas, later years have a timing chain and would have different issues / symptoms.

The noise has returned so I must return to Immortan once again. Thanks for making this video because I was about to go insane trying to figure out where it was coming from.
I'm going to do my timing belt, water pump, cam and crank seals next month. I don't have those issues yet, but thank you for making this video and bringing an awareness of a bad tensioner. So I guess ill replace those too! 😊
Is it safe to use 1/2 inch impact wrench to remove the crankshaft bolt instead of a breaker bar?

Yes it’s fine but only use a torque wrench to install

@@immortanautomotive9221 forgot to ask, will I need a weighted impact socket to remove the crank bolt or regular impact socket will do just fine? Thanks in advance ☺️

Regular should be fine, I’m not sure because I always use a breaker bar
