David I need a favor from you I need you to stop saying Mexico has an influence in Belize when it comes to tacos. Listen closely to this. The Mayans invented the corn tortilla and the first ever Taco was the cochinita pibil created by the Mayans .. so any place that has or had Mayans will have tacos. Tacos doesn't belong to Mexico it belongs to the Mayans.

I love this. Thanks for showing up the food of my parents' island. I grew up on this food. I love it. I have been to all of these places you showcased on your edition of your program. We are strong and proud people. Thank you.😊😊😊😊
Love mofongo and puerto rico so much!❤
I can’t believe that so many Puerto Ricans don’t even know where the name Boricua comes from. The term comes from the Taino Indians that used to call the island of Puerto Rico Borikén (Borinquen) Prior to the arrival of the Spaniards in 1493 - which means “Land of the Valiant and Noble Lord.”

Ignorance is bliss. They don't even teach Latino history in America unless it's Mexican or something. Gringos are obsessed with Mexicans but disregard all the other Latino cultures like we don't exist. 😒🙄🥺

Did you know that most people in different countries don't really know where their language came from? Americans don't really know where their language comes from.

Boricua is an actitud it’s a filling of Belong,a love for your country.
I love PR food. Especially Bacalao and mofongo.
Beautiful food Beautiful people the cook is easy on the eyes..
Naaaice! You went to Bajareque! I didn't see any Puerto Ricans in the back whenever I went. I had a horrible experience at Mofongo. I never went back. The waiters were just flat out rude, the fried steak was super dry and inedible. We literally couldn't eat it. The only thing that tasted good was the mofongo. But even then it wasn't spectacular. Just good. I haven't tried the Bori Food truck!
That place has to be there for 100 more years. I'm going to the island in two weeks. It's been too many years but I'm ready. ¡Vamos pa la playa y a comer bien! -Bory Negron🇵🇷😎
yes this is amazing! Love MOFONGO!!!
Grew up eating arroz con gandules but my family makes it with green olives added and a choice of meat (pork chop, pepperoni, or chicken)

This was so fun to watch!
David - unrelated but when I was in Miami about 10 years ago, I came across the Holocaust memorial. I’ve seen many all over the world but this one was the most emotional, beautiful and incredible memorial to it that I’ve ever seen and experienced. Would be amazing if you could do a video going to see it. I remember how utterly floored I was by it. ❤

I am enjoying the video and also eating the last four salt fish (codfish) fritters or as we Jamaicans call it “Flitters” I fried a couple days ago.
Me encantó, pero creo q el segundo q probaste fue el mas suave de todos los mofongos y la carne frita se veía sabrosa sobre el. El flan de coco a otro nivel y cremoso como debe ser un flan. Bravo por ellos

Yes for Puerto Rico being such a small island, it has lots and lots of Talented people. With that comes our fair share of crooked politicians. 🤣 When I head down to Miami, From NYC. I will make sure to stop by. Bring my son, wife and daughter in-law and probably a few friends. Thanks for sharing.
Coño definitely have to check some of these spots, i have been here in Miami for many years and havent foind any restaurant Boricua that do it like us in the island. Pero vamos a ver...
Im from PR, I dont put Mayo-ketchup on everything, mostly on burgers. Totones, mofongo, most fried stuff with garlic olive oil.

I find many boricuas are copycats.... I mean that sauce is a knock off thousand island dressing
@kessler003
4 ай бұрын
@@junedaisy707 Kinda. Mayo-ketchup is eaten is lots of LatinAmerican countries, they call it "Salsa Rosada". I dont like commercial mayo-ketchup, doesnt taste like straight up mayo mix with ketchup. Companies add other seasonings and, to me, tastes weird.
First of all Puerto Ricans are a melting pot of 3 cultures. First the Taino Indian which was in Puerto Rico first, before Columbus, who acts like he discovered everything but didn't , ppl were already there the Taino when he left, Puerto Rico he left the Spaniards there with some Africans and that's how all 3 cultures mixed. . Now for the specific food David was eating you cannot compare mofongo with fufu, fufu is Casava steamed or boiled and mashed with no flavor what's so ever... mofongo is fried plantain mashed with garlic olive oil some used butter and then The meats like shrimp , fried pork chunks or the beef..and alcapuria is a banana and y yuca masa fried with meat and the last the PASTEL is ground grown veggies like yuca, green bananas, and pumpkin shredded into a paste put on a banana leaf with the savory meat in the middle we use annato seeds to color and flavor the oil we use in Pastel, and empanadas was invented in the united states because of pastelillos!!! So much more food that's authentic like ensalada de papas and pollo guisado etc!!!! And we don't eat mayo Ketchup with everything especially not mofongo with the caldo and or more garlic in olive oils sauce or el mojo mayo Ketchup is used for fried stuff like steak sandwiches and tostones or alcapuria for bacalaito more like pique it cuts on the grease of it!!!!!

Huh? Fufu isn't supposed to have flavor because it's supposed to come together as one from whatever meat and sauces are being consumed. Second, you have African culture as well in Puerto Rico not just taino. Also, all those foods and your language have influences from mainly Spain and the Caribbean. Shut your closed minded ass up.
El Fufu Cubano si lleva Chicharrones y Carne de Puerco 🙂
Estuve en mofongo y la comida estuvo súper rica
My Arroz Con Gandules is the best. No one can beat my flavor. No one!!!! Lol
If you go to Honduras fs u have to try our baleadas. It's so simple but it's so bomb trust
I love Puerto Rican food and J Lo speak Spanish.
Bruh, you all need to go easy on the man 😆 he is just trying to learn some things from everyone. Relax lol. The beauty of knowing people from different cultures is interesting. I myself am learning about Cuban foods by a friend we have from Cuba and he is learning some Boricua words but we don't be in each other's necks just because we don't know something about another neighboring country. Respect for the Puerto Rican, Cuban and Dominican brothers and sisters!
Eso es lo mío bacalaitos y alcapurrias🇵🇷❤👍✌️🇵🇷
El Riconsito de Santa Barbara has the best mofongo in miami!
Mayoketchup does go well with almost everything but typicaly Alcapurias or Bacalaitos are not eathen with the sauce
My mommmmm works thereeee

It wasn’t about language. It was referring to her being born in Miami. It’s called being a unicorn when someone is actually born in a major city where the majority of people have relocated there. He was saying it was rare. Austin is another example. And MANY Americans speak multiple languages. We have a lot of cultural diversity and learn growing up AND they even teach us in school.
