This was mind blowing. As a Christian I have to admit I was brainwashed into seeing it more as dark and evil. After watching this and understanding the connections to slavery I think I can say that this and the last Haiti video really changed my mind. I would love to see more videos like this, very Anthony Bourdain!

I’m Nigerian and trust me it is demonic. Ifa and orisha stuff is satanic. I have literally seen people end up out of their minds because of this stuff. I’ve seen so much paranormal activities because of Nigerians I knew practicing this type of stuff shown in this video. If you like your life stay far away from it and serve JESUS CHRIST ALONE and no other god.

Are you a born again Christian?? Do not be fooled people from America and Europe don’t realize how dark this is the enemy don’t want you to know a witch will always be nice, kind and look normal or beautiful that’s the way they can get you. JESUS IS LORD!❤️

I'm Haitian & I also noticed the similarities in the pitch of Yoruba with Haitian Creole! That made me smile & felt like a touch from my ancestors! I'm majority Congolese/Nigerian - with smaller amounts of Ghanian, Sans, & more! I can't even take any sides when it comes to the Jollof rice argument! 😂😌 I'm loving this episode so far!

Wow! As a panafrican I am extremely delighted to see, through this video, African cultures and religions are being valued and shown to the World, knowing that Africa is the motherland therefore the origin of religion and culture. We Africans must go back to our origins in order for others to respect us. David and all participants in the video, THANK YOU so much for showing the World what Africa is about.❤ I wish you a good recovery.

Even though we have been stripped from our culture, we were still able to hold some elements of our spirituality. Brazil has candomble, Haiti has voudon, Jamaica and other islands have Obeah, Cuba has Santeria, Guyana has Comfa. We are rlly one people❤️.

In fact, Mam Penda Mbye is credited as the originator of this dish. Mam Penda Mbye was fro St. Louis, Northern Senegal. In Gambia, the Krio call this dish "Jollof Res" (Jollof rice). The Wolof of Senegambia prepare two versions of the dish: the red and the white. They use very different ingredients in their preparation. So, how did Ghana and Nigeria get to know of this dish? I am not sure, but I presume their exposure to the dish has something to do the presence of Ghanaian and Nigerian troops in Gambia during WW 2.
