Who's the tripmaster now, punk?
You can cut way more time off this if you try to fit in more hits, but I think this video really illustrates how forgiving this can be to pull off. Even a critical level 1 charge is enough to trip Naja, so if your timing is a little off it doesn't really matter.

    Great greatsword play, thats the fastest ive seen a najarala fall down, is it because its back legs are weakest to slash damage?

    You can effectively shave off a few seconds by memorizing how many seconds it takes and not sheathing for the last few hits...I think!

    I didn't even know this was possible. I thought that MH4U had gotten rid of these "infinite" exploits. I remember being able to do something similar with G-Rank Rathian in MH3U and High Rank Rathian in MHP3 with a Switch Axe and a Lance and just headlocking the Rathian to death in like 2-3 minutes. But I didn't know that these still exist in this game.

    +brightsuperstition There was a pretty popular video of someone trip-locking caravan Furious Rajang. It's possible to still head-lock Rathian with certain set-ups too.

    stunlocking the snake types in 4u are particularily easy, with a GS you don't even have to "try" to stunlock, with end-game gear you get a stagger every single fully charged attack

    +Mark Portman It's usually pretty bare-bones stuff, though 4U did a better job of giving the player actual story progression arcs and and using various NPCs to dispense extra quests (rather than just have them appear in a list with no interaction) in a sort of sidequest-esque fashion.

    +Mark Portman not really, MH3U had a somewhat vague story that was kinda there, and 4U went all out and actually has a pretty in depth story, with characters and goals, but its not as flushed out as your average game story. MH is pretty much just playing out the life of a hunter, accepting hunts, doing hunts, getting paid ect.

    +SC RS "stigma against greatswords" According to the MH community, you're not allowed to use anything. Evasion? Crutch skill. GS? Broken. LS? Weaboo scrub. CB? Noob. Bow? Waste of slot. It's not so different from the Souls community now, is it?

    ***** In MH's case, it's the community. Pretty much anything is viable if you just want to progress and rank up, but if you're going for the fastest possible kill times (which you'll want to do because this game requires quite a bit of grinding), there are playstyles and equipments (weapon and armor skill combos) that simply do not perform as well as others. In multiplayer, that can be problematic if you have a player who uses the best possible (mixed) set for every quest and a player who just uses what looks cool and wants to have fun ranking up with his buddies. For those "efficient" players, it can feel like they're carrying the "casuals" because they end up doing pretty much all the work for them without getting rewarded more. Doesn't help that there are a lot people online who expect to get carried and show no effort whatsoever. Personally, I don't think it's that much of a problem since multiplayer quests are balanced with 2 players in mind, even if you're a full team of four. If one decent player can destroy monsters like you saw in the video, imagine what 4 can do. Doesn't matter if two players are "dead weight". The equipment "elitism" comes mostly from people hanging out on online communities discussing the game and it's connected to the "casual vs efficient player" issue. Longswords for example are considered noob weapons because they can easily trip other players. But in the hands of a good player who knows how to position himself without disrupting his team mates, it's an amazing weapon. The Evasion+ skill is considered a crutch for scrubs by some people, others would say that it's an extremely offensive skill because it allows you to be very aggressive. In the end, it comes down to personal preference, much like in many other games.

    In 4U I didn't like LS simply because if your colored gauge runs out, you have to start over again. In Gen i like it again :)

    Why the felvine bomb?

  • @brightsuperstition

    @brightsuperstition

    8 жыл бұрын

    It saves the player a couple of seconds in a time attack video. Basically, you put the bomb down, then you consume a buff. The bomb explosion cancels the flexing animation after you drink down your buff. It also propels you forward, which is useful for moving between different parts of the map quicker.
