An Episode review of MF Ghost. If you haven't watched the episode yet, do be warned that this contains spoilers of the official episode. If you're okay with that, do proceed.
These are my genuine reactions, criticisms, and feedback of the anime, while holding its predecessor on high regard given it is a direct sequel to Initial D.

    10:38 though I really prefer the skylines/gtrs more than the 86, Shun kind of does have a point as we don't see alot of actual HP being given to the 86 to justify why it's there to begin with. 11:42 has a mix of both plot armor and skill issue imo. Plus I think it's no stranger of a fact that Shigeno is really biased towards the 86. 16:15 That one was straight outta yaoi fr. 25:55 To compound with points 1 and 2. We need to take a look at Arcade Stage 0's and DAC's Odawara. Those versions of Odawara are shortened for the sake of the consistent gameplay loop. If those were the actual Odawaras, then what Kanata can accomplish can make better sense, however Odawara is far bigger than what the gameplay Odawaras have. This kind of gets even worse when we get to the next two tracks. The momentary straights are far longer, making a car's performance mean alot more, which we'll see in the next episode. The corners are also very wide, which means you can relatively floor it flat out with proper positioning and cornering. Kanata's feats with the 86 are great ngl, but that would be a given considering that is what's established of him. The whole Inertia Drift deal is also flashy kinds of great but I dare say it's not as effective nor fast as the Record Line/Subtle middle zone of between drift and grip of Dr. Toshiya Joshima. What he did there, any other car and driver would've done without the flashiness and way faster plus theres plenty of the Godly Fifteen who didn't actually use loaned cars but actually understand them in and out which allows them to perform said feats, but ofc, it doensn't attract the crowd at all. There would probably have been less feed when the Nascar Driver didn't actually wallgrind his way to victory irl though I forgot his name. I know my whole points can be with a good amount of criticism or even cynicism, but even when I first watched Initial D, I'm pretty dumbfounded by what feats Takumi could do with the 86 when we have the whole lesson with Kyoichi, and what I'm very curious about is if Shigeno completely threw that lesson out of the window; I hadn't kept up with the manga after all ever since the first few chapters or so and the last review I saw was with a guy who hated MF Ghost a bit too much despite having actual good points like how the tracks are structured and the actual performance of Kanata's 86. Also last note, don't you think the whole Grip-to-weight ratio as a concept is rather really dumb? Like I get the idea of the whole cars having more weight that can afford wider tires, but the problem is... YOU CANNOT QUANTIFY GRIP, IT'S ONLY BASED ON FEELING. It makes the whole thing sound very nebulous rather than actually smart.

    Cons with wider tires Harder Handling & Steering This is because wider tires have more contact with the road, which creates more friction. This friction makes it difficult for the car to move quickly and harder to turn. As a result, drivers who use wide tires may find themselves at a disadvantage when racing or driving in tight quarters.

    @@migueljozart8287 even if that is the case, the roads as seen here and even some manga shots i recall, are literally far wider than the roads we got for Initial D. That's only one factor as well to a multitude of many factors that get in the way of Kanata's climb to the top. Since we're only getting the time attacks, it gets even worse when they decide to race each other to the finish line. HOW Can a GT86 with probably a quarter of the power of Aiba's GTR, the Aventador, the Audi or so on catch up with the ideal instances of the straight? The Godly Fifteen can't be all dumbasses to not know how to rectify the problem of their power and wheels. Plus tire preservation means shit when you can get to the finish line faster in 1 lap which is how the setting of MFG is, only one lap to make it count.

    ​@@sixteenthbluemoon7606 well, current Kanata GT86 cannot defeat any godly15 car in long straight line and that's an undisputable fact. . . . . . SPOILER ALERT that's why in the next episode, he lost some position in kamaboko straight due to lack of power.

    @@sumertaagus2935 The corners are still wide enough for other cars to go all out on. To assume he can always gain an advantage in the corners is ludacris. The maps are practically Shutokou area specs territory. If that was the case he should be able to face off against Akio and Tatsuya, who have raced in C1, a tighter city "circuit" with traffic mind you. And they have cars that are tuned far better and the two of them are skilled drivers in their own right. If you'll complain its an unfair comparison, this shit isnt a fighting game, it's a point to point battle bound by the same gravity and physics with the only difference being stylistic presentation.

    Last scene drift is so nostalgia ! Man i love that one drift heck ae86, toyota 86 and GR86

    So automatic shifters are faster than manuals with the pedal ? Inna drag race with the same car same settings, the automatic with steering shifters would be faster than the one with gear lever ?

    The Japanlish in this is funny as hell, and the romance/fanservice is badly done, but the races...the races with this amazing MC are FIRE.

    It's really weird honestly. Plus the one frame of Rei a while ago in close up shot is better because you can just focus on her face and that she has good art in that frame.

    This is speaking in technical world so if you dont know then this is majority hard to understand 10:00 So basically in technical world is that paddle shift are way faster than H pattern gearbox so like paddle shift is driven in ECU like you click it it sent the feedback to shift up or down which it takes a miliseconds while H pattern it depends how fast you shift plus clutch movement which fastest is 1or 2 sec which is can make up quite a lot actually 11:33 Is kinda mix but with kanata ability is not really plot armor cause he is taking ideal line where grip-to-weight rule applies that lower power car can corner better than a high power and high grip due to weight to compensate

    to be real racing in a Sequential gearbox is way better advantage then a standard gearbox by a land slide ! it just happened that this kanata kid has fugiwara foot training then again this is just a comic so am just goanna throw REALISM out of the window !🤣
