Taquería El Califa de León is a taco stand in Mexico City, Mexico, that earned its first Michelin star. The star was the first for the taco stand and the first Michelin guide for Mexico. Now, customers are waiting at least two hours to get their hands on the award-winning tacos.

they could've picked any stand and this comment would happen, the truth is, its about more than just him, its Michelin recognizing that anyone can be capable of cooking outstanding food. In fact this will inspire the right people to become even better at their stands to win such a title.

I've eaten there. It's very mid, not bad, not good. Definitely can find just as good or better places nearby, I used to work very close to that taquería.
Finally, Mexico is being recognized for its luxurious yet affordable cuisine. Love it!

Did you notice the amount of meat they use for each taco and how it varies by your choice of meat? Typically, tacos have a minimal amount of chopped meat, often masked by other ingredients. Keep that in mind next time.

They are 50 pesos. So around $3 dollars right now with the exchange rate. I was there last month
No surprise, many more to come. Some of the best food in the world comes from the streets. Some of these stands have master family-owned recipes passed down through generations, and it's time for them to get the recognition they deserve. 👏🏻👏🏻

Yeah, that’s not right. The tacos are 50 pesos which is like $2.65 right now. I was there last month and had them at that same place.

Incredible achievement! 🌮 This Michelin star truly shows the culinary excellence that can be found in street food and small, traditional establishments.
By the way Taco there only cost $3 USA dollars per taco average $10 Total cost. Compared to all restaurants with The same awards average $150 to $200 per person at any other USA location or EUROPE

The luxurious tacos that deserve a "Michelin Star" in Mexico are the ones made in a remote place on Chiapas, with Wagyu beef boiled with Fiji/Niagara/Icelandic water and gold leafs.

Lol this are the pretentious , expensive tacos in a gentrification area of the cd mex ... do you see the "crowd" 😂😂 this are not authentic anymore . The salsas are not even spicy , they are "full of flavor" 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️. 😂😂 also check the tortillas... not even handmade which is what I would expect of the Michelin star level place 💁🏻♂️

Tacos Califax in Mx City are actually the best. They give you 5 different salsas to use such as mole, red, green, and a few more. Their lettuce wrap tacos are magnificent.
