That honestly got me to laugh. I like to joke how Prime 4 will go the way of Metroid Dread, but in all seriousness, Retro Studios has been posting updates about development team hires throughout the latter half of 2020, and even looking for alpha-build play testers or something along those lines, so I'm pretty sure it's doing quite fine, just slow.

They won't. They know this is a do or die situation for Metroid based on the history of how the series has been handled, so it really is up to us to show them our committment via our wallets.

This trailer came out a few months before I started high school and now I'm starting my second year of college soon. I went through several relationships, made tons of new friends, learned like 3 new skills, graduated, started driving, and became an adult in the time it's taken from this trailer being shown to the game being released.

@Lx Saber Hey, that's a bit unfair to say. Well they did scrap it, I don't want to be one of those people and just assume it would be awful. I remember back when Nintendo scrapped that Kirby game on the GameCube. I remember it had tons of screenshots, cool level design and was stated to be a fast-paced, difficult Kirby game and I believe it was developed by Capcom, who did some of the best entries in the series. It showed a lot of promise, but they canned it. Based on what I saw, feel free to insult me if you must, but I still think it *looks* funner than Star Allies. Return to Dream Land is the game that used its concept the most, and assets, but Star Allies only took its Helper System out and, in return, had many of its own problems. But, I digress. Nintendo said this didn't meet their expectations, but I've seen beta games, trailers, screenshots, of other cancelled projects. I have to say, most of them looked really fun. So, had Namco actually been developing it, I had faith it would've been good. They have a competent team of people who have made very fun games, most recently Drum 'n' Fun and Ultimate. Retro Studios, on the other hand, lost the director for Prime and key staff, so hopefully they do a good job without them. I've been more impressed by Namco games than Retro Studios in recent years, still under the assumption Namco was developing Prime 4, so I would've loved to see how it turned out. But, I suppose Nintendo didn't feel the same way.

The fact that Retro Studios still has some people who worked on the Prime Games and that Kensuke Tanabe is still going to be the Producer of Prime 4, does still means that the possibility of Prime 4 being good is still there, also, I don't think Nintendo would just simply go and call Retro again without knowing who was has left Retro and who was stayed, I'm pretty sure that it was hard for them to make that small video about the development being restarted, BUT, that's the thing, they want to Prime 4 to be good, they are aware of how important Metroid is for the fans, also, Retro Studios has actually been making good games for the past years, their last game developed before Prime 4 was Tropical Freeze, idk how well that game did on sales, but it actually did well on reviews. So yeah, I do have hope that this game is going to be great when it finally releases.

God damn it. Same here. I got the Wii U hoping one day there would be a Metroid game for it. Then I made a rule that I can't buy a Nintendo console until a Metroid game is actually released for it. I guess I'll be getting a Switch the day this game is released.

The good one thing other m did for nintendo is samus' character design. Like dammmmmmmn son. Gameplay had potential but sideways wii mote and spamming dodges ruined the game. The story was okay but bad if I'm feeling really critical. Other M had potential and it would be neat if Nintendo revisits this type of gameplay with A LOT of polish.

Seriously, one of the higher view counts for all of their E3 coverage, probably second only to Mario Odyssey. I hope that communicates the large interest in this franchise and in making a top caliber game.

Total now is 1.3m, which is 0.2m behind the 3ds Metroid, and 5.8m behind Super Mario Odyssey. Metroid Prime is amazing, but for some reason, it doesn't collect too much attention among Nintendo fans. At least the ones that weren't in the GameCube Era or weren't interested in the trilogy pack

It has nothing to do with "Nintendo fans". It's just that everybody and their uncle knows mario, even the non Nintendo fans, and metroid was just never popular among Non-Nintendo fans. But I would highly assume that everybody who claims to be an actual Nintendo fan, and not just a mainstreamer that plays only Zelda and Mario and has never tried other franchises, knows Metroid and is super hyped for this.

Dudeman Sony & Nintendo both have some of the best exclusives up their sleeves.New Metroid games , Shadow of the colossus remake , Super Mario Odyssey , God of war like come on , All the old Franchises at their best. Also many other exclusives. Im happy that im no console fanboy and enjoy both these systems along with a decent enough custom Pc
